A Fab 4 Line Manufacturing Engineer (ME) at Micron Technology, Inc. is part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team (MET) in Operations Development Engineering (ODE) and is responsible for optimizing operations for cycle time and for driving improvements to operational performance.

 

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

 

Safety

*Completes all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies. *Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. *Reports all safety-related concerns or problems immediately to the appropriate individual (Emergency Response Team, Supervision, etc.). *Performs audits and submits good catches on safety issues.

 

Communication/Collaboration

*Partners with key stakeholders to develop applications to continuously improve production metrics. *Presents findings and recommends solutions to fab performance gaps to diverse audiences.

*Interfaces with TD and process engineering to plan for future product introduction. *Provides updates on key projects and lots.

*Drives the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources.

 

Project Management/Planning

*Designs and coordinates projects with several different departments. *Supports inventory control and cycle-time improvement processes. *Leads projects, including the identification of task requirements and milestones. *Develops best practices, reports, dashboards, and other data visualizations.

 

Technical/Data

*Applies industrial engineering concepts to line management, capacity analysis, scheduling and production planning. *Uses statistical analysis to evaluate manufacturing line performance and identify opportunities for improvement. *Seeks out novel methodologies and tools to better predict and track manufacturing key line performance indicators. *Forecasts and sets cycle time targets and tracking performance to plan. *Benchmarks with other Micron sites and the industry in general to leverage best known methods (BKMs). *Continuously improves production metrics and line performance reporting. *Develops metrics and reports to support the Part ME and ODE in general.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

*Ability to organize and facilitate meetings and project teams. *Intermediate skills in critical software (i.e. SQL, VBA, SharePoint), including knowledge in software package and in programming language (e.g. C ++ or Python). *Solid understanding of production line management techniques and theories, including knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing line, in managing and optimizing a bottleneck within a manufacturing line, and in managing and monitoring line yield and its impact to performance on a manufacturing line. *Demonstrated understanding of fundamental semiconductor production floor concepts and operations, including knowledge of semiconductor processes. *Strong understanding of statistics, advanced data analysis, project management, and resolution of complex problems and root causes. *Advanced understanding of Manufacturing Science (scheduling, inventory management, capacity planning), including knowledge in manufacturing capacity planning, in Cycle Time and Queuing Theory and optimizing capacity and cycle time relating to manufacturing planning, with manufacturing scheduling systems, in creating/optimizing process and procedure, and in automating tasks or processes. *Demonstrated understanding and ability to improve production metrics and line performance. *Knowledge of auditing a process.

           Hours of work:            Usually 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday

 

Degree Required:                  BS or equivalent foreign education
