In this role you will program CNC machine tools that are used in the manufacturing process of the largest surface mining machines in the world; including 7495 electric rope shovels and draglines. The ideal candidate will have prior experience operating metal cutting machine tools and generating offline programs using the CAM package GibbsCAM or NX CAM. Job Duties\/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: * Use GibbsCAM or NX CAM software to generate CNC programs for machine tools * Determine the most economical method of production for parts in a high mix, low volume environment. * Generate setup and cycle time from program output. * Create operation specifications, tooling and setup sheets using Microsoft Excel * Provide technical support for shop floor including process improvements, cost savings, setup assistance * Strive for a zero injury facility by implementing safety improvements whenever possible * Ensure daily tasks (CI cards, CNC programs and quality notifications) are processed accurately and on-time * Position will be 50 to 75% out on the shop floor doing CNC program prove outs on machine tools Basic Qualifications: * Experience with CNC machining including mills, lathes, vertical, and horizontal machining centers * Experience in 4 and 5 axis programming * Experience with Siemens and Fanuc machine controls * Experience operating in a high mix, low volume machining environment Top Candidates will also have: * Able to understand and interpret output (G code level) from CAM system * Proficient with the GibbsCam or NX CAM offline programming CAM package * Proficient with the CNC simulation tool, Vericut * Functional knowledge of SAP * Experience using a CAD package (Creo, Solidworks, NX, etc) * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, skill using MS Office Caterpillar is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status; however, as a global company, Caterpillar offers many job opportunities outside of the U.S. which can be found through our employment website at\/careers Relocation assistance is available for this position.EEO\/AA Employer.
