As a member of the Vice President of Government Marketings Leadership Team, the Executive Director of Medicare IVL Marketing will serve as a key member of the team charged with developing distinctive marketing strategies for the Medicare IVL (MAPD) business and customers, strengthening Aetnas appeal to Medicare eligible prospects for acquisition, and current Aetna MAPD members for retention.

This will be accomplished by developing and enhancing our customer segmentation, targeting and content that expands our business while building trust and loyalty with our prospects and members.

Fundamental Components:

This leader will be developing and setting marketing strategies for Aetnas Medicare IVL MAPD business with a focus on driving top line profitable growth through a unique, compelling, and motivating value story for our Medicare prospects and members. The position requires innovative and market leading B2C marketing experience and skills in direct to consumer marketing. This leadership role is critical to our vision to join consumers in the pursuit of their unique health ambitions, and to help drive above market growth in our Medicare business. This position is a client-facing role, above a broad team, leading consultative work with our Medicare business partners to define marketing strategies, develop the content and go to market plan, working collaboratively with our local markets, our inside creative agencies , and external agency partners, to execute in order to drive revenue growth and member engagement. This role will also work collaboratively with our broader Marketing organization, including Enterprise Brand, Product Marketing, Consumer Experience and Engagement, Marketing Technology and Digital Experience, and Community Activation and Local Marketing.


15 years of executive or senior-level strategic marketing experience in B2B businesses. Medicare specific experience preferable, but not required. Bachelors degree, MBA or related masters degree desired. Ideally this position is based in Wellesley MA. Open to New York City or Hartford, but significant time in Wellesley. Result oriented senior executive with ability to drive results.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Segmentation and Targeting - Partners with Consumer Analytics to develop segmentation and targeting strategies based on insights and data to drive consumer behavior Brand - Maintains brand integrity and ensures the member experience aligns to Aetnas brand strategy B2C Experience - Designs and maintains an omni-channel customer experience across all of our Media channels. Develops relevant content based on the customers context in their journey Digital - Skilled in all digital channels; deep appreciation and understanding of marketing technology and digital analytics Acquisition & Retention - Data and results-driven marketer; expert in best practices for B2C proof points; utilizing both digital and traditional direct channels
