powered by our people. As an Environmental Sustainability Supervisor at

Caterpillar, you will work towards finding new, innovative and

economically reductive ways to support environmental sustainability. You will

provide leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management

personnel engaged in environmental activities related to a facility’s

sustainability programs and plans. 

Job

Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

This

position will be responsible for the environmental sustainability strategies

for three manufacturing locations.

Act as an

agent to facilitate long-term success of programs aligned to strategic

business direction and internal and external customer satisfaction.

Responsible

for communicating plans, formulating budgets and marketing sustainability

strategies.

Engage the

facilities to build consensus on sustainability efforts: identifying short

and long-term goals, analyzing risks, and performing gap analyses.

Working

closely with operational and maintenance teams to educate and inform

them on the potential changes and how they will impact the environment and

workplace.

Interface

with internal Sustainability stakeholders, external consultants, and

regulatory agencies

Measure sustainability performance and prepare reports on sustainability goals and

achievements

Monitor

legislative and regulatory activity and communicate potential impact to

company operations

Identify and

manage environmental aspects and impacts to the facility and implement

processes to ensure regulatory compliance.

Provide

environmental services to facilities:  Efforts may include the

development of regulatory interpretations, compliance reports, permit

applications, etc.

Participate

in corporate EHS compliance and management system audits

This

position will supervise one salaried direct report.

','!*!Basic Qualifications:

 

·     Bachelor’s Degree in

Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science with 5 years of equivalent

Sustainability work experience within Resource Conservation, Renewable Energy

Conservation, or Waste Elimination Conservation OR ·     10 years of equivalent

Sustainability work experience within Resource Conservation, Renewable

Energy Conservation, or Waste Elimination Conservation

 

Top Candidates will also have

  ·     Must have excellent

working knowledge of recognized sustainability concepts, environmental

regulations and legislation, and manufacturing operations·     Strong understanding of

EHS regulations·     Excellent human

relations, negotiation, and communications skills·     Ability to manage

multiple projects at once by demonstrating effective resource and project

planning, decision making and results delivery·     Detail-oriented with

ability to effectively communicate to all organizational levels·     Must have a level of

proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs·     Advanced degree or job-related

certifications
