Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for an Environmental Programs Manager in Sugar Land, TX.

Essential Responsibilities:

Manage One EHS – Maximize the value of One EHS by building relationships and establish a point of accountability to improve HSE’s and operation’s environmental knowledge and compliance.

Identify / Manage Risk – Responsible for completing site audits/inspections; reviewing audit results; compliance records and other leading and lagging indicators to identify potential gaps and risks; and to develop strategic and tactical approaches to drive compliance.

Assurance of Compliance - Responsible for driving continuous improvement to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and BHGE requirements.

Eastern Hemisphere Environmental Permits Lead – Will be the BHGE point contact for EH environmental permitting. Work with facility personnel on permitting needs, compliance and adequate renewals.

Risk Management Program – Responsible for driving improvement in the Risk Management Program, including collaborating with the global process safety team to develop new ways to implement upcoming regulatory and industries changes, auditing, compliance and adequate renewals.

Build Capacity - Responsible for identifying innovative ways to improve capacity and knowledge in the organization to allow the teams to be self-sufficient.

Upcoming Regulations – Responsible for identifying new and changing environmental regulations and industry standards (e.g. IOGP) and develop new methods to embed the changes within the organization.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in environmental discipline

8 years’ experience, including 5 years in management

Demonstrated knowledge of global environmental disciplines and the ability to work in a global matrix

Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, team building and influencing skills

Ability to research, analyze, interpret and implement HSE regulations, standards, and best practices on a global perspective

Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with site management and field operations personnel

Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills

Desired Characteristics:

Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM)

HSE experience in oilfield operations and/or manufacturing environments

International experience
