Environmental Health & Safety Engineer

The EHS Engineer will assist the organization with the development, implementation, and maintenance of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in accordance with corporate, local, State, and Federal regulatory compliance requirements.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists in Lab and Plant Inspections

Participate in the Site's Emergency Response Team.

Assists with the preparation of regulatory submittals and permits.

Assists with the preparation of Job Safety Analyses of facility operations.

Maintain MSDS database.

Assist in the development of MSDS’s

Maintain emergency response and EHS related equipment

Provide training to new employees, contractors and visitors.

Maintain EHS related documents and records.

Additional Responsibilities:

May act as back-up to primary wastewater treatment operator.

Job Requirements :


Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, environmental science or related degree

3-5 years’ experience as an EHS professional

Familiar with EHS management systems, e.g., ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

MA Wastewater Operator License (preferred)

Physical Requirements (if applicable):

Able to wear emergency response protective equipment including, respirators and chemical protective clothing
