Key Responsibilities

The Training Manager will be a part of the Corporate Quality Team that shapes the strategy of the Quality Process and will have primary responsibility to teach the concepts and skills needed to keep the Quality Process flourishing as a constructive corporate-wide tool for improving business performance.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

The development and execution of Lean, Sigma Logic, Business Process Excellence (BPE),  Enterprise Manager training, e- learning, and other Quality training courses in support of all SBU’s and locations toward the achievement of business objectives. 

The development and implementation of a strategy to use new technology to effectively deliver Quality training. 

Effectively develop business and transactional training through to delivery.

Ability to train all levels of employees in the management and use of Basic/ Lean/ Sigma/ BPE tool application and resource management. 


Experience and Education

Minimum 8 years of experience, with functional experience in at least two areas.

Experience designing and implementing training programs; Experience or education in Instructional Design, Organization Development or a related field a plus.

Successful experience at managing projects using the advanced Quality tools and methods of Lean, BPE and/or Sigma Logic, with a proven track of achieving results and having achieved credibility from management and peers.

Supervisory experience

Trained as Sigma Logic, BPE or Lean Catalyst.

Functional and Technical Skills

Solid knowledge of the PPG Quality Process and its unique tools.  S/He will help shape PPG Quality Policy and ensure worldwide training effectiveness.

Facilitation skills. The Manager will be called on to consult and persuade leadership of the nature and extent of their personal involvement in learning experiences in order to advance the PPG Quality Process.

Ability to design learning experiences with a variety of delivery modes, including electronic, will be necessary to cope with constantly changing learning requirements.

Strong interpersonal, presentation and writing skills. The ability to earn credibility with PPG people from the shop floor up to and including senior management is required for success. 

The Training Manager will work closely with all members of the Quality team and is a team player.

Domestic and International travel are required.   Expect 40 – 50 % of time traveling

Position requires fluent English as a minimum.
