The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the organization which (1) sets the scope for the UNIPOL® PP licensing offerings, (2) prepares process engineering deliverables consistent with the license requirements, (3) assists new licensees in the design and construction of their facility and (4) develops and implements process technology improvements.
Major responsibilities include:
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Technology Licensing business strategy as a key member of the Licensing Leadership Team.
Lead the Process Engineering Group in the development of engineering deliverables which define the scope of the plant to be built under the license agreement.
Respond to client and contractor questions during the detailed design and construction of the licensed plant.
Develop process warranties for inclusion in the license agreement.
Incorporate new technologies into the licensing offering.
Manage the spending for the group at or below the annual budget (~$5M per year).
Be the main technical contact for the UNIPOL® PP Bidding Contractors, a network of EPC contractors who support the UNIPOL® PP licensing effort and provide overflow manpower to Grace.
Recognized technical excellence in polyolefins process design; experience in technology licensing
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to manage a staff
Lead by example
Organize and lead multiple simultaneous projects with widely varying objectives.
Communicate professionally and effectively with persons of various occupational backgrounds, including operations, maintenance, engineering, marketing, legal, and management.
Keeps abreast of industry advancements, proposes appropriate advancements for inclusion in our offerings, champions continuous improvement
Travel up to 15%
BS in Chemical Engineering
At least 15 years’ experience in petrochemical process engineering, preferably polyolefins
Experienced in leading teams of process engineers specialists.
Experienced in interfacing with EPC contractors during plant detailed design and construction.
