Job ID: 41649Position Overview:This role is a key member of the Global R&D Engineering staff and will primarily support development projects at the Packaging and Engineering Technical Center (PETC) to advance our global business portfolio across the Coca-Cola system. The successful candidate will have strong background in molding technologies, plastics processing and trouble- shooting skills, as well as good documentation and effective technical communication skills. This position will involve working in both pilot and laboratory environments.Function Specific Activities:Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities
Conduct R&D prototyping activities in support of development projects using processing equipment including: resin drying, mold set-up and sampling, mold, machine & ancillary equipment maintenance and trouble-shooting.
Maintain a clear and precise laboratory notebook
Conduct experiments using standard laboratory practices, including: experimental design, data collection and analysis to advance the R&D agenda.
Ability to innovate and prototype new solutions and technologies.
Good documentation skills, maintain process data sheets, maintain SPC / data log of sampling runs for individual projects.
Maintain tooling data base, storage of adapt tooling components for easy retrieval and use.
Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical and controls as they relate to problem solving and troubleshooting of molding equipment and associated utility equipment.
Manage work requests from multiple engineers and schedule for maximum efficiency and priority. Communicate openly with engineers regarding timing and progress of requested work
Be able to effectively function within a team
Maintain cleanliness of processing areas and storage areas.
Coordinate shipping of equipment, materials and components to external testing locations, bottlers or R&D centers.
Maintain inventory supplies including resin and coordinate ordering supplies.
Attention to Detail: Accomplishing tasks by considering all areas involved, no matter how small; showing concern for all aspects of the job; accurately checking processes and tasks; being watchful over a period of time.
Ability to keep up-to-date with industry trends, standards and regulatory requirements.
Education Requirements: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Plastics or equivalent experience. Related Work Experience:  0-3 years of hands on experience in injection or blow molding, good background in plastics processing with an aptitude for trouble-shooting. Define, Develop and Execute Technical Strategies for Packaging Engineering Research and Development Role:  Define, develop, and execute consumer-centric End-to-End technical strategies to drive the categories and brands required to accelerate our transition to a total beverage company. Define, develop, and execute processes that enhance the speed, efficiency, and quality of R&D work.

Design, Develop and Execute Winning Solutions for Packaging Engineering Research and Development Role:  Design, develop, and execute sustainable business and winning technical solutions by leveraging insights, technological opportunities, BU/bottler capability, business case creation/validation, risk assessment and management, leveraging  the power of our System and it's people. Design, develop, and execute processes that enhance the speed, efficiency, and quality of R&D work.

Design, Develop and Execute Technical Projects for Packaging Engineering Research and Development Role:  Design, develop, and execute technical projects (e.g. product prototypes, packaging feature, material evaluation, design of experiments, consumer validation, single research experiment, chemical analysis, etc.). Design, develop, and execute processes that enhance the speed, efficiency, and quality of R&D work.

Technical Project Management for Packaging Engineering Research and Development Role:  Establish priorities and lead processes for planning technical work and monitoring progress to achieve desired outcomes.  Influence buy-in for strategic project plan from stakeholders and key contributors.  Lead and maintain collaborative, proactive communication and ensure appropriate documentation with all involved parties to gauge and manage expectations.

Learning Agility for Packaging Engineering Research and Development Role:  A person's speed to learn.  Ability to rapidly study, analyze, and apply new technologies. Ability and willingness to learn from experience and external benchmarking.
