Employment Outreach Specialist

Responsible for educating members and families on employment programs, e.g. Voc Rehab, Working Healthy, and Work.

Contacts social agencies and employers in the community to identify job leads and assists members with disabilities in securing employment based on member feedback and potential use of career profile assessments.

Requires extensive business development activity, including telephone sourcing and face-to-face meetings.

Trains LTSS staff on employment initiatives and programs.

Develops system (by collaborating with LTSS, and others internally and externally) to assist members in developing long term employment goals.

Develops system for tracking member profiles that show job and education experiences.

Provides education and support to employers as agreed upon by clients which can include negotiating job accommodations.

This is a field based position covering a territory in northern Kentucky. Hours may include some evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications:

Requires AA or AS in business, marketing, communications, healthcare, social services, or public health and 3 years of experience with community outreach, home and community based services.

Knowledge of Kentucky Workforce Development programs, Kentucky Medicaid or Kentucky WIOA preferred.

Preferred undergraduate degree in mental health, social services, or business.
