PURPOSE:The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for executing the delivery of employee relations services, including accountability for the resolution of complaints, investigations, conflict resolution, performance management and other tasks as assigned. The Manager will be responsible for proactive approaches to employee relations issues and will ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
Manage employee relations case load; ensure consistent application of policies and procedures
Establish employee relations department standards relating to procedures for investigations, follow-up, metrics, etc.
Partner with internal and external counsel as needed for managing case load
Leverage and analyze trend data to create process improvements and to conduct root cause analysis work
Partner with Workers Compensation & Absence Manager and Medical Department Manager on accommodations process
Manage special projects as assigned; facilitate training as needed
Build and foster relationships with internal customers
Manage unemployment claims process, EAP vendor relationship and exit interview process
Partner in the communication and management of performance management processes
BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Management, Business or other related field. Masters degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of employee relations experience required; with at least 2 years of Human Resources Management experience preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, State and Local employment laws
Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, analytical and decision making skills
Ability to develop collaborative and effective relationships at all levels within the organization
Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, counseling and conflict management; influencing skills
SPHR or SHRM Senior Certified Professional preferred
Experience in manufacturing industry preferred
