JOB SUMMARY: Provides emergency medical technician services as designated by client contract. Administers first aid and arranges transport of persons to medical facility. Performs periodic tours to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. Enforces regulations pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* Determines nature and extent of illness or injury, or magnitude of catastrophe, to establish first aid procedures, basing decisions on statements, examination of victims, and knowledge of emergency medical practice.* Administers first aid treatment at site of emergency, or in specially equipped vehicle, performing such activities as application of splints, administration of oxygen, treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, or administration of artificial resuscitation.* Communicates with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and to arrange for reception of victims at treatment facility.* Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process.* Provides an atmosphere in which all client employees and visitors are provided a good image of the client and its security department.* Communicates in a manner that is open, honest and responsive in all situations; to the extent authorized, provides information regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitors.* Monitors entrances to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry, control the movement of people and vehicles, and parking; operates a gate and examines vehicle contents; monitors remote entrances using closed circuit television; operates remote access devices; in a calm manner, directs persons who cause a disturbance to leave the property.* Patrols buildings and grounds on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked or blocked doors, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons; uses appropriate equipment and protective gear.* Protects evidence or scene of incidents; sets up barriers and signage, and provides direction or information to others.* Prepares logs or reports as required for site; writes, types or enters logs/reports in a computer using standard grammar; inspects records and takes action as required.* Observes, reports and responds to incidents or suspicious activity to client representatives, company management, life/safety personnel or public safety authorities, as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by the site.* Follows procedures established for the site by the company and according to training or certification; performs Emergency Medical Technician-related duties in response to incidents; removes or assists in removal of victims from scene of accident or catastrophe, and provides related instructions to others, as necessary.* Acts to ensure that all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements and according to client standards; identifies client products or materials among items carried by client employees or visitors.
MINIMUM HIRING STANDARDSMust be at least 18 years of age.Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., pager or phone).Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).Must have the legal right to work in the United States.Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.Must have a High School Diploma or GED.Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.Education/Experience: Associate's degree and 3 or more years of experience in a field related to the security industry and/or business management, and responsible experience in the security industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.
