Assignment Capsule:
You will transport patients from place of origin to the appointments in a courteous and timely manner. Role requires a high commitment to service excellence.
Ensures vehicle is safe for operation \u2013 including wheelchair lift and all seatbelts and straps
Pick up and return of patients per schedule given by dispatcher through electronic means (Smart phone and/or tablet)
Stays in contact with Transportation Dispatchers/Supervisor via cell phone using Bluetooth device for any assistance and/or route adjustments
Works flexible shifts as work dictates. The schedule is M-F 7:00am to 5:00pm but time can vary depending on daily work flow.
Ensures that vehicle it is mechanically safe and clean
Performs other duties as assigned.
Role Essentials
High School Diploma or equivalent GED
Professional experience with commercial/oversized vehicle as a Driver
Basic Computer and Smart Phone/Tablet skills
Excellent customer service and communication skills with passengers
Ability to transport members in a safe, timely and efficient manner, including assisting patients with walkers and maneuvering wheelchairs
Ability to work a flexible schedule with hours/shifts, location/hub (for coverage), with the potentials for overtime working weekends and evenings based on business needs
Good driving record and knowledge of streets and addresses in the driving area
Ability to follow policies and procedures
Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Must have basic mechanical skills and ability to inspect vehicles daily to ensure working condition, e.g. fluid levels, seatbelt and safety straps, lights and signals, tires
Strong relationship building with medical staff, peers, managers and employees
This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana\u2019s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB
Role requires second level background investigation/screenings including: MVR, drug screen, and fingerprinting
This role is part of Humana\u2019s Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver\u2019s license
Role Desirables
Bi-lingual (English/Creole or English/Spanish) language fluency preferred. Basic verbal language testing and remediation course available
Professional experience driving commercial/oversized vehicles in passenger or patient transportation (highly desired)
Wheelchair-bound and/or patient transportation services experience
CPR certification
MS Outlook and Word

Additional Information You must be flexible to be available for any shift during these hours:
Any shift that occurs between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday \u2013 Friday
Shifts can vary depending on daily work flow
