The Credit Operations Leader will focus on operational aspects of consumer home equity origination activities, including application processing and underwriting, in Key’s Consumer Loan Center located in Canton, Ohio and Hudson, New York. This highly motivated, client- and partner-focused professional will ensure client service excellence, effective and efficient operations, and compliance with existing regulations and policies. This Leader will develop and implement consistent organizational procedures in line with policies, rules, laws, and regulations. Integral to the role is the ability to form effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders, including business and support partners, peers, colleagues, and executives. Essential Job Functions:
Lead teams of managers and associates to provide timely and accurate processing of consumer credit applications
Embodies a client-focused mindset and knows how to translate that mindset into client-focused processes and procedures and an ever-developing sense of service culture
Execute sound credit analysis processes which ensure consistency, thoroughness, and adherence to Key’s loan policies, procedures and quality standards.
Thought leadership; proactive approach to process enhancements and evaluation of controls; embrace an end to end view of the credit approval process and deploy Lean Six Sigma principles for optimal efficiency.
Create an environment that ensures training, development, and career path for all team members.
Plan, implement, and monitor optimum team structure and staff utilization to align with service delivery goals and production volumes.
Manage third party vendor relationships to ensure optimal performance, fiscal budget planning, and regulatory guidance.
Lead business insight focus and performance reporting; industry data and trend analysis shared with business partners and loan servicing groups; ensure process transparency and information flow.
Communicate with business partners and leaders regarding service metrics and priority initiatives related to optimal client experience.
Hands on approach and leadership in priority projects and complex business solutions to ensure proper and timely execution.
Expertise in external regulatory compliance including Dodd-Frank, TRID, RESPA, TILA, HMDA, and Fair Lending among others. Drive consistency and standardization in the execution to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and best practices.
Effectively present analysis, policies, reports, and recommendations to various partners, committees, and executives.
Partner with Product, Decision Analytics, and Finance in product implementations, volume forecast, and decision model validation.
Partner with Default Management in portfolio trends, EPD, and first payment defaults.
Drive client focus and create an environment centered on improving products and services to internal partners and clients.
Build an inclusive environment focused on employee engagement and collaborative approach across teams.
Bachelor degree in business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
10 to 12 years of experience in Consumer Lending with primary experience in operations and credit underwriting process management.
5 to 7 years leading employees in home equity and direct lending environment.
Working understanding of consumer loan products and loan systems.
Comprehensive knowledge of banking and financial service consumer lending regulations and compliance requirements.
Proven ability to train and develop staff in credit analysis functions.
Proven track record of spearheading and implementing continuous improvement
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management, and prioritization skills
Must be detail-oriented with an ability to drive outcomes
