Job ID: 41193Position Overview:The Freestyle Engineering & Innovation team is looking for an innovative Director of Software to build out the next generation of Coca-Cola Freestyle dispensers. The next generation platform will be cutting edge, built on Linux with a Java/Spring container that provides an API to the Chrome based front-end using sockets to connect to the control systems. The front-end will be built using a modern HTML5 platform with React and Redux. Docker will be used to contain plug-ins from customers and innovation teams within the company. Data from the device will also be fed into modern, cloud based artificial intelligence systems to improve reliability and deliver operational excellence. As Director of Software, you will lead the software team and be accountable for delivery of all software on the dispenser and integration to the broader ecosystem (CMS, CRM, and ERP). This position is critical to the success of our group as the Director will chart the course for devops, process, automation and testing, and handoff with operations. Because the dispenser requires multiple disciplines, you will also work hand-in-hand with the fluidics, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams. You will also work with the Director of Innovation to incorporate innovation elements into the platform and operationalize them.This is a Director level position with a strong team of developers, but the expectation is that you will be actually be hands on and coding 20-30% of the time. For that reason, you must have strong technical skills and feel comfortable architecting and developing critical components in the system.This will be in our Northyards Freestyle space with a great team and a startup culture.Requirement: 4-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar. 15 years of proven test driven, development experience and at least 5 years-experience leading development teams to deliver products. Team player with excellent communication skills. Required skills are AWS, IoT, Java, Spring, Linux, Git, JIRA, Docker, Junit or similar, Maven, and automation. Candidates will be rigidly screened and asked to write code during the interview.Functional Skills:
Design application software components including specifications of audit controls, exception and error handling, security, retention, procedural or recovery logic in order to construct the application.
Analyze business requirements (e.g., functional and technical requirements, information need, business processes) by conducting information-gathering sessions with clients, analyzing the information and prioritizing the requirements to gain understanding of the business needs.
Coordinate the analysis of proposed projects (high-level project descriptions) with technology service providers (e.g., application development or infrastructure service providers) in order to determine resource requirements (people, hardware, software) and to provide consistent communication during the planning process.
Establish and maintain the application development environment standards (including project management and solution delivery methods/tools/technology) for global use in order to enable consistent, reusable and efficient practices within the IT function (covers full development life cycle of analysis, design, development, testing, training or delivery).
Orchestrate the deployment of resources (e.g., people, infrastructure, financial, informational) from Coca-Cola (e.g., client, internal service providers) and third parties in order to ensure successful project completion.
