Reporting to the CCB Learning Design/Development Executive, the Learning & Development Director’s (LDD) primary responsibility is to partner with senior leaders in an aligned Line of Business (LOB) to recommend performance solutions and create training that helps the LOB meet business goals.

As the main training point of contact for the LOB (excluding leadership development training), the L&D Director is responsible for managing the overall relationship with the LOB and leading the development and implementation of the learning strategy.

Through strategic consultation and leadership of a team of Learning & Development Managers and Specialists, the LDD will identify performance gaps and present recommendations, guide the LOB in the effective use of performance-based solutions and oversee and help prioritize the book of work with the ultimate goal of helping the LOB achieve measurable business results. The LDD is a thought leader and is responsible for partnering with Digital Learning Solutions to help set direction for learning innovation and ensure successful implementation of the innovation strategy across CCB Learning.

Responsibilities:

•Displays customer obsession by managing business partner relationships by building collaborative ties with LOB leaders

•Leads business planning discussions with senior leaders to determine learning and development related strategic priorities

•Proactively works with business partners to define and resolve workplace performance challenges and opportunities

•Identifies new projects and performs high level needs analysis

•Negotiates with the LOB to prioritize projects and initiatives

•Participates in key business meetings to understand LOB direction, strategy and initiatives

•Partners with senior management to create, maintain and regularly review the learning plan for the LOB

•Actively manages the book of work and training inventory for the aligned LOB

•Ensures learning solutions are resourced and managed

•Holds the team accountable to create solutions that meet digital design principles, address the needs of the modern learner and are delivered with focus on speed to market

•Oversees measurement and evaluation strategy to gauge program effectiveness and business impact

•Partners with the demand management team to understand LDS utilization and capacity

•Reviews and responds to feedback from the LOB

•Leads a team of L&D Managers and L&D Specialists aligned to help the business achieve its objectives

•Ensures direct reports understand the application of instructional design and delivery principles, adult learning theory, performance analysis, relationship management, project management, measurement/evaluation, digital development principles and learning innovation

•Identifies opportunities to increase team capacity through smart design choices, process improvements, use of technology and effective partnership with CCB Learning COE leaders

•Maintains strong knowledge of training industry trends, including innovation, digital learning and new delivery modalities

Masters degree in HR, organizational development, learning and development (preferred)

•Financial services industry experience (preferred)

•7 years experience in building organizational and employee capability (strongly preferred)

•7 years managing teams successfully (strongly preferred)

•10 years experience in design, developing, and implementing instructional design solutions (strongly preferred)

•3-5 years experience identifying root cause, performance gaps, recommending non-training solutions (preferred)

•Strong consulting, negotiation and influence skills

•Strong organizational and time management skills

•Strong self-awareness and sense of accountability

•Proven accomplishment in building relationships with customers and internal clients

•Proven ability to lead teams to meeting their objectives

•Demonstrated ability to successfully give and receive feedback at all levels of the organization

•Excellent interpersonal skills

•Effective meeting facilitation skills

•Strong listening and observation skills

•Strong analytical and questioning skills

•Able to synthesize and distill large amounts of information into key messages

•Experience conveying information in a succinct and creative way

•eLearning experience preferred

•Experience leading virtual teams
