
Director of Insurance Training and Channel Marketing (28510BR)

RiverSource has an excellent opportunity for a Director of Insurance Training and Channel Marketing to join our dynamic team! This is a strategic role in which you will collaborate with wholesaling, product, marketing, and other leaders to provide product, sales skill training and consultation services to internal and external audiences. You will also lead the support of the wholesaling team, managing ongoing programs and developing content for wholesaler, advisor and client events. You will also support broker-dealer initiatives and develop and implement value-added programs. Responsibilities Build and execute strategy for content delivery of product and sales skill development for wholesalers, advisors and their staff. Coordinate with enterprise-wide partners and stakeholders to ensure one integrated strategy. Represent business line in key cross-functional training and field initiatives. Identify external vendors with unique training technology or skills development processes and negotiate contracts and manage accountability of these vendors. Lead Channel Marketing that supports the wholesaling team, managing ongoing programs and developing content for events. Partner with business areas to support key broker-dealer initiatives as well as develop and execute value-added programs. Provide strategic direction and support for implementation. Provide leadership for flawless execution of strategy - on time, with excellence in quality, compliance, and within budget. Build strategic partnerships with marketing, wholesaling, product, management, and operations to identify developmental programs and recommend and deliver solutions. Develop initial and ongoing training and engagement programs to support new product launches, campaigns, strategic changes in business processes, or the adoption of new technology. Develop metrics to determine success of all programs, conferences or initiatives. Lead teams to develop, manage and continually improve our training and channel marketing strategy, content requirements and process. Provide supervisory oversight to the team as well as serving as the department Registered Principal. Provide leadership to the team including goal and development plan creation, one on ones, performance management etc. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree Series 7 and 24 licenses, or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire History as successful people developer and leader. Proven ability to develop a strategy. 7-10 years experience in training and marketing in the financial services industry, preferably in the insurance industry. Proven project management experience and strong problem solving skills. Excellent communication skills, relationship building, flexibility, and strong dedication to building strategic relationships. Ability to provide customized assessment and coaching programs for key leaders and business units. Executive presence - capable of interacting with senior and executive leaders in product management, marketing, sales, and operations at a peer level.
