Job Summary

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for the management of forward and reverse logistics, material planning, production scheduling, supplier sourcing and development, delivery assurance, procurement, and internal capacity assessment. In this position, the individual will manage a staff of approximately 60 and will be responsible for talent identification and development.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead the Supply Chain organization in the establishment and continuous improvement of: Inventory Management, On Time in Full, Daily Production Scheduling, Supplier Management and Development, WIP Management, Material Planning, Internal Capacity Management, Monthly Revenue Forecast, Material Movement & Supermarkets / Kitting, and Aftermarket.

Establish the strategic direction by developing and deploying process revisions designed to meet customer demands and improve organizational efficiencies using tools found in the Esterline Operating System.

Work effectively across organizational boundaries and lead resolution of issues with customers, suppliers and team members when high level interface is required.

Develop, track and report key performance measurements and metrics in support of Esterline’s Policy Deployment Plan goals. Ensure flow-down of goals to direct staff and delegation of activities and tasks.

Design Supply Chain Solutions including but not limited to: Takt based logistics with suppliers, cost reduction and abatement programs, 24/7 aftermarket support models, inventory models that meet customer contracts but limit liability to Esterline, and Long Term Supplier agreements that drive excellence

Champion lean transformation and Esterline Operating System (EOS) continuous improvement philosophy with hands-on involvement and reinforcement of best practices.

Develop annual departmental operating and expenditure budgets. Monitor and manage budget performance as well as manpower resource allocation.

Ensure that department activities are aligned to ensure uninterrupted material flow in and out of production cells. Develop strategies and objectives that will drive performance improvements in the materials, and supply chain departments.

Serve as a key contributor for the implementation of all strategies and initiatives to ensure the Materials processes reaches and remains a benchmark process within the ECCS organization. Document and share best practice methods, processes and ideas across ECCS operations to drive continuous improvements in all aspects of the EOS.

Qualifications

Sr. level professional with 10 years or greater experience in a Materials and/or Operations Management environment with demonstrated leadership results

3 years working in an aerospace manufacturing environment, including an understanding of aerospace industry regulations and compliance standards.

Must be an effective advisor to Sr. Management.

Must be an ambitious leader with outstanding communication skills, focused on inspiring excellence and driving execution of process improvement ideas and goals.

Demonstrated knowledge in lean systems and business controls.

Must possess the skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; and develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.

Must have management experience with demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and coach teams.

Extensive knowledge of ERP / MRPII software including inventory, MRP, and forecasting.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

BA or BS Degree in Business or related field. MBA degree a plus.

Certification in APICS CPIM (Production & Inventory Control Management),or other professional designation preferred

Must have previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the Aerospace industry or similarly highly regulated business.
