The Director, Sales will bring a strong understanding of the Defense and Air Traffic Control (ATC) market segment, acquisition and programs in order to lead business development efforts and drive the Sales Account Management team for new business capture. This includes, but is not limited, to new and emerging opportunities and programs in each major market segment, identifying account development opportunities with synergistic ties to emerging business and programs as well as coordinating and aligning with Strategic Marketing and Product Management.

What You Will Do:

Defense Market

Requires in-depth knowledge of US DoD government business, funding, sales cycles and defense acquisition strategy.

Ability to engage at executive level of direct government agencies and prime contractor base

Ability to develop business with focus on emerging opportunities and account penetration at prime contractor Tier I and Tier II level.

Understand primary market segments of naval, IAMD, Army ground, UAS for growth opportunities

Strong Business Development track record desired.

Support to Strategic Marketing in terms of:

1 year budget process and 5 year Strategic Planning process requiring mid to long term forecasting, market trends and new product developments

Tradeshow messaging and communication plan

Esterline PDPR and continuous improvement objectives

Air Traffic Control Market

Requires in depth knowledge of US DoT government business with regard to FAA segment and funding, opportunities and sales cycles.

Ability to engage FAA Management level, executive level of prime contractor base and major DoD stakeholders including USAF and USN.

Role of Business Development and positioning for new emerging programs and opportunities

Administer CRM updates and funnel management

Support to Strategic Marketing in terms of:

1 year budget process and 5 year SBS process requiring mid to long term forecasting, market trends and new product developments

Tradeshow messaging and communication plan

Account Management

Monthly CRM review with Account Managers for 2

nd

day orders forecast reporting

Monthly support of Sales & Operations Planning process with focus on sales deliveries and consistency with CRM orders funnel.

Updates to L2 Policy Deployment Deck

E-Time, Mobile Expense

What You Will Bring:

Technical Degree desired with BSEE/BSCS or equivalent Engineering Degree preferred with MBA a plus.

5 years of senior-level sales experience with defense (rugged) and ATC products

Experience in DoD government sales and government acquisition strategy.

Experience successfully managing sales process and team members directed to large prime systems integrators demonstrating ability to guide sales team through complex sales process.

Exceptional communication skills with ability to deliver high-level presentations and communicate at C-Level within DoD and prime contractor base

Technical experience and knowledge of displays, embedded computing and video distribution technologies strongly preferred

Experienced in all Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent CRM database tools.

Ability to travel 50%, both US and international
