What Business Intelligence contributes to Cardinal HealthBusiness Intelligence is responsible for applying business process knowledge and data analytics to develop, recommend and communicate timely, accurate, relevant, and actionable insights to support business decisions and objectives.Uses knowledge of business and data to discover and/or anticipate problems or opportunities where data can be leveraged to address the need.Asks probing questions to translate business needs in order to build and design reporting solutions (metric management, dashboards, enterprise performance management).Applies data visualization, descriptive and summary statistical techniques for discovery and timely insights (data exploration, ad-hoc queries, and analysis).Interprets results of analyses, identifies trends and issues (forecasting), and develops alternatives to support business objectives.Applies data aggregation, descriptive analysis and data presentation techniques and tools to communicate complex findings and recommendations to influence others to take action.Demonstrates ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex information to a variety of audiences and mediums.Accountabilities in this roleCardinal Health Presource Products and Services is the provider of low cost, high-quality kitting solutions to help improve your cost effectiveness and ability to serve patients. The result is a more efficient supply chain with increased staff satisfaction and safety, and more time for patient care.This role will report to the VP/GM of Presource, and will work closely with the Directors of Product Marketing, Services Marketing, and Customer Engagement and Vice President of Sales Operations and Supply Chain Planning to ensure foundational capabilities can be targeted and delivered appropriately to address real customer and business needs.This position will be responsible for the roadmap for analytics that spans foundational data/capabilities to internal and customer facing solutions, and provide direction for Analytics with changing business strategy.The Director of Business Intelligence will lead a team that is responsible forDeveloping the strategy and roadmap for analytics within PresourceManaging the vision and development of customer facing tools (e.g. PackManager)Influencing the infrastructure and processes to sustain delivery of Analytics servicesDevelop innovative capabilities to deliver world-class analytics to customersDevelop and maintain decision support and operational applications for the functions both within and in support of Presource, to include sales operations, supply chain planning, marketing, finance, clinicians, and global sourcing.Create ongoing and ad hoc reports, metrics, and analytics for the functions both within and in support of Presource, to include sales operations and the sales team, as well as externally to support the customer.Hire/ structure team members to create a good culture and process for analytics deliveryDevelop rigorous evaluation techniques to determine customer and internal needs that will drive the development roadmap of capabilities and customer facing toolsEducate, train, test and evaluate tools and future tool conceptsCreate a suite of tools and capabilities to enhance customer assessments, product recommendations, and standardization efforts among othersDevelop an Analytics dataset of Presource data that can become a hub for more advanced capabilities, the basis for solutions, and a source for quick insight to the businessPartner to deepen clinical knowledge of products and kits through enhanced clinical cross-referencing and taxonomy developmentPartner to evaluate 3rd party data capabilities/companies to further Presource strategyQualificationsBA/BS in related technical field (e.g. Operations Research, Business Analytics, Computer Science)MS/MA/PHD in related technical field preferred5 years of leadership in an Analytics, Solution Development, Strategy, or related environment10 years of leadership in related environment preferredProven track record of quality team leadership and delivery of high-quality resultsA focus on fostering great talent including performance and career managementGreat team player: committed to business success with the humility to accept dissent and insight from all team membersDemonstrated ability to determine strategy and direction within a process, relying more on rigorous action than personal charismaDemonstrated ability to think strategically, be decisive, and influence team directionWhat is expected of you and others at this levelProvides leadership to managers and experienced professional staff may also manage front line supervisorsManages an organizational budgetDevelops and implements policies and procedures to achieve organizational goalsAssists in the development of functional strategyDecisions have an extended impact on work processes, outcomes, and customersInteracts with internal and/or external leaders, including senior managementPersuades others into agreement in sensitive situations while maintaining positive relationshipsCardinal Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
