The Role

We are now seeking a UX Taxonomist for Dell's Commerce Service Group. This position will be responsible for driving customer insights to help develop the product and services taxonomy across the Dell Technologies umbrella. The successful candidate will provide support through research, customer perceptions, and analysis of the market, competition, and end users. This person will help build and develop an intuitive and comprehensive information architecture to optimize product discovery when searching and browsing on our sites.

The ideal candidate will have served as a taxonomist for a complex eBusiness, and has managed to strike a balance for business needs along with research driven best practices that can be leveraged to manage our complex portfolio of products and services.

Principal Accountabilities:

Develop a data driven taxonomy that will serve the needs of multiple business units while keeping the customer experience at the forefront.

Independently manage medium and large projects; participate in planning and scoping of most project work.

Expand and refine data retrieval techniques to utilize our extensive product catalog and make sure products end up in the right place for our customers.

Analyze website metrics and customer behavior data to make intelligent decisions on optimizing our taxonomy navigation structures

Analyze requests from internal teams and provide rationale and solution documentation to solve taxonomy and item creation challenges.

Create and maintain documentation for managing item creation, taxonomies, and additional product data.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree with 5 years experience in technology taxonomy, structure data, online search technology, insights research or equivalent combination of related experience.

Proven skills in data retrieval techniques (card sorting, tree jack, usability etc).

Experience in taxonomy development and aligning a master taxonomy with other taxonomies.

Experience in E-Commerce.
