This position is primarily accountable for providing technical support in the development of new color development, support to field, manufacturing and applications, data analysis and problem solving, DOE design, customer service, and meeting specific customer requirements.
The incumbent is responsible for acquiring and implementing the experience and expertise needed for the development of coatings. He or she spends a considerable amount of time at the bench engaged in the formulation and testing of coatings.
The incumbent will develop coatings through the performance of a variety of tasks. The position will involve learning through primarily lab experimentation instead of theory. The incumbent will be expected to assist Manufacturing with technical aspects of products. The incumbent will assist in developing project objectives and goals and in recommending new projects by applying a sound understanding of scientific principles and formulation technology.
The incumbent will also maintain compliance with all health and safety requirements.','!*!
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry (preferred) or science related field with 1 year of relevant experience, or a Masters Degree in Chemistry. They should be able to quickly grasp new technology. Oral and written communication skills should be well developed along with good problem solving ability. Good interpersonal skills are required to work with technical and non-technical personnel. A desire to learn and an aptitude for more independence in handling development projects are desirable attributes in the incumbent.
The incumbent must acquire and implement the usage 5S, the BPI tools, and have basic familiarity with Sigma Logic principles and DOE experimentation.
