What you will do

The Johnson Controls Global Information Security (GIS) team

is undergoing a transformation and expansion as Johnson Controls increases its

cybersecurity resources and capabilities to address the increasing

cybersecurity threat landscape.

 

Hosted in Milwaukee, WI, the

Information Security DevOps Engineer is a position reporting into the Global

Information Security DevOps Manager with responsibility of assisting in

development and implementation of an automation and logging correlation system

designed to help the GIS organization respond.   This role will

perform the administration of Johnson Controls’ security infrastructure

capabilities to include endpoint detection and response (EDR), security

incident and event management (SIEM), security automation platform and other

core capabilities.  He or she will

administer these capabilities by installing and maintaining infrastructure

tools and related system software, continuously improving the application

through proactively analyzing, and resolving related problems.  He or she

will be responsible for service delivery and support, including configuration,

incident, problem, release, change, availability, and continuity management

within defined operating and service level agreements.

Assist in daily monitoring of the SIEM,  log parsing and onboarding, development of

reports and alerts, and overall management of the platform.

Operations team efficiency.  

Automation Capabilities

(Phantom)

Document security

workflows, optimize for automation, recreate in automation tool, and

customize code as necessary. Python skills required

Provide feedback into

the security logging and automation platform and processes to decrease threat

time to detection and increase Security Operations team efficiency.  

Scripting Capabilities (Tanium)

Develop scripts to

retrieve system information, perform actions or deploy packages for Linux,

Windows, and Mac systems. Powershell, VBscript, Linux Bash, Mac Shell Scripts

skills required.

Provide feedback into

the security logging and automation platform and processes to decrease threat

time to detection and increase Security Operations team efficiency.

The successful candidate will be a

passionate information security professional with the ability to communicate to

different business and IT leaders. The candidate will be able to execute the

Information Security inventory management strategy defined by leaders. The

candidate will demonstrate drive, intelligence, maturity, and energy and will

be a proven team leader and security strategist.

A minimum bachelor’s degree in computer

engineering, computer security or computer science discipline.4-7 years of information security related and

information technology logging analytics experience with a proven history of

helping organizations ingest, parse, and make sense of varied, large sets of

information.Workflow automation experience with a focus on

increasing analyst efficiency and eliminating repetitive tasks.Experience with Security Incident and Event

Management (SIEM), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and Security Workflow

Automation tools. Knowledge of Splunk Cloud architecture including

using Heavy Forwarders, Deployment Servers, and Splunk Agents. Strong scripting skills in multiple languages

including python, PowerShell, VBScript, Linux Bash, and Mac ShellCandidate must be able to react quickly,

decisively, and deliberately in high stress situations. Strong verbal/written communication and

interpersonal skills are required to document and communicate findings,

escalate critical incidents, to technical and non-technical audiences at

different seniority levels and interact with customers. Highly motivated individual with the ability to

self-start, prioritize, multi-task and work in a global team setting. Ability to create and maintain good business

relationships with counter parts, customers and external entities to achieve

the security operations management goalsAbility to maintain a high level of discretion

and personal integrity in the exercise of duties, including the ability to

professionally address confidential matters
