Purpose of JobWe are currently seeking a Design Director for our San Antonio, TX facility.

Inspires and leads a team to

conceptualize, critique, execute, and validate

experience frameworks and interaction design models.

Directs creation of current and desired experience models, scenarios, storyboards, and flows based on research; information architecture, structures, data, and concept models/sketches/wireframes; low-fidelity mockups exploring language, order, hierarchy, and interaction frameworks; high fidelity mockups visualizing data, detailing information and transitions within the micro-interactions; visual design, patterns, and prototypes for user evaluation. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Keeps a hand in applied design through periodic individual contribution and team collaboration.

- Demonstrates

applied knowledge of Design Research

methods and their intended outcomes. Experience leading, planning and moderating generative and evaluative studies, analyzing, synthesizing and modeling results that clearly communicate current and ideal experiences, opportunities, and future intent to cross-functional teams (e.g., personas, journey, conceptual frameworks, storyboards).

- Synthesizes member, stakeholder, and business needs into clear objectives to align teams,

define work plans, inform resourcing, and ensure timely delivery

in a human-centered, data-driven, agile environment. Identifies challenges and adapts based on the context of the solution, member and business need, scalability/ extensibility, and technical feasibility.

Owns the integrity of the end-to-end experience and high standards of quality for design

. Works with cross-functional team members to define metrics and principles by which to evaluate design decisions and maintain design quality.

Portfolio of UX/Design work demonstrating

- The process involved in shaping the design or project.

- Experience with multiple contexts and devices (mobile, tablet, web/desktop, voice, wearable). Examples of gestural, voice, and hardware interfaces desirable.

- Direct experience with design/user research, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and implementation.

- Design of complex systems at scale.

- Effective use of storytelling techniques as a tool for designing interactions.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelors Degree or 12 years of progressive, hands-on digital and experience design related experience

- 8 or more years of progressive, hands-on digital and experience design related experience required.

- 3 or more years of direct design team lead or management experience required.

- Subject-matter-expert understanding of current and emerging experience design principles, and human-centered design methodologies, and demonstrated application of the knowledge, skills and abilities of experience design practitioners.

- Subject-matter-expert level of business acumen in leading cross-functional initiatives, partnering with business owners to improve the quality of the members/users experience, design industry practices and emerging trends in design.

Background in Marketing / Ad Agency / .com / e-commerce

Deep understanding of customer journey and acquisition funnels (best practices/guidelines)

- Strong understanding of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts

- Analytical Skills, able to analyze trends, look at new data and keep with the times

- Experience in content strategy

- Experience with real-time optimization and MVT (Optimizely, Maxymiser, Adobe Test and Target).

***Selected candidates will attend and complete the Management Development School program in San Antonio, TX, during their first six months in position.***
