Job ID: R-02268Position Overview:Function Specific Activities:The key responsibility of the Trade Deductions/Non-Trade Claims Analyst is to assume a lead role in the deduction management and trade payables processes. This position will make many decisions that directly impact the profitability of the company.
Partner with Field Sales and customers to maintain a constant focus on achieving targeted deduction metrics
Partner with internal and  external customers to identify trends and resolve issues causing deductions
Understand how the company goes to market with customers utilizing a full understanding of the customer's strategies, policies and  key personnel, as well as trade, pricing and  product strategies and key personnel
Understand all deduction management policies and  procedures to complete the trade payables process by issuing checks and clearing deductions against the proper trade events
Demonstrate an understanding of trade promotions, i.e., off-invoice allowances, Billbacks, scan backs, advertising, etc.
Demonstrate an understanding of the claims process for resolving non-trade deductions such as overages, shortages, pricing and unsaleable deductions
Understand, gather, and maintain all necessary documentation to satisfy Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements
Create and deliver accurate and timely customer tracking reports to provide visibility into trends and volume reporting to aid in controlling overspends
Assume the lead role in trade-spend tracking by SKU and customer to ensure the accuracy of the customer P&L and provide feedback regarding profitabilityEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline with the ability to analyze and interpret financial information
Advanced proficiency in MS Office, primarily with Excel
The ability to create reporting for monitoring accruals and reporting to Sales and Finance
Strong analytic/problem solving capability, negotiating, and decision making skills are required
Strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail required.
Must be resourceful, self-motivated, organized.  Able to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Be able to work with employees at all levels of the organization
Candidate must be able to work within timelines and be able to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities
Preferred Skills:
BA or Advanced Degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree
Experience/exposure with SAP
Foodservice /DSD/ Retail/Trade fund management experience
