Database Administrator (“DBA”) provides Oracle & SQL database

administration for various enterprise applications and initiatives and system

administration support for Oracle applications. 

In addition to providing technical services in support of the Company’s

overall support effort, the DBA contributes to the vision and planning of

future database environments.  The DBA

participates in team projects as either a member or lead, so very strong

communication and collaboration skills are required.  The ability to succeed in a fast paced and

highly dynamic environment is essential.

in successful database upgrades, new data structures, and the leveraging of upgrades

and technical advances (such as new features, functions and methods) in new

versions of the Oracle and Microsoft SQL (Structured Query Language) server.Monitor

database environments, identify performance bottlenecks and issues, and resolve


other team members (Developers and DBAs) in methods and procedures and provide

on-site coverage of off-hours support activities (both unscheduled and

unplanned) and after hours planned activities scheduled in system maintenance


with business units to understand how they use the Oracle and SQL databases;

make recommendations on more efficient use of applications as it pertains to

database performance.Harness

in the definition of project scope, objectives, methods, and procedures and

in requirements definition studies, develop workflows of current and proposed

database design specifications and create and maintain database objects such as

file groups, tables, views, and indexes.Prepare

programming specifications; code and compile SQL scripts and stored procedures

and triggers; develop test plans; test and debug programs.Participate

in development of implementation plans.Participate

in post-implementation reviews.Participate

in the tuning of data warehouse jobsPerform

operational Oracle and SQL database administration, including installation,

back-ups, and security.Provide

status and activity reports; report progress of assignments that may affect the

outcome of the project.Identify

and resolve problems with production systems.Keep

informed on new and emerging database and application development technologies.Support

development, test and production environments, including maintenance of

Operating Systems



degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline preferredBetween

5–7 years as a DBA in an enterprise environment requiredExperience

using Oracle Database on Linux/Unix Operating system with the ability to

maintain users, cron scheduler, file systems, logical volumes, etc., requiredExperience administering SQL Server 2005, 2012, and

2014 requiredFunctional

knowledge of Oracle Applications a plus





100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under

normal office conditions.  Approximately

l5% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
