OVERVIEW:

Marathon Oil Corporation is seeking a Database Administrator having work experience in large scale Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database environments. The successful candidate for this position will be working in Marathon's Data Center - Database team supporting all production and non-production SQL databases and their related applications.  The individual must possess strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and critical thinking skills.  The position will assist in the administration of a large Oracle/SQL Database area including the following main environments:

*MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) *MS SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2014 and 2016 running on MS Windows 2003, 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012. *Oracle 11g, and 12c versions of the Oracle RDBMS servers running on MS Windows, Red hat Linux, operating systems.

ADDITIONAL PROFICIENCIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Following are the key responsibilities, but not limited to the items listed below:

*Participate in client solutions for new/existing database requests. *Maintain database design and configuration standards. *Manage and forecast capacity and growth for database environments. *Participate in client solutions for new and existing database requests, including development for the business. *Own, track and resolve database related incidents and requests. *Building/deploy and maintaining database systems and the environment. *Monitoring and reporting of database environment health and status. *Strong attention to details with the ability to troubleshoot issues and provide resolution. *Work in conjunction with operational support teams, such as, network, virtualization, storage, OS and application administrators, as well as, external vendors to resolve issues. *Assist and maintain corporate change control policies and procedures. *Responsible for development activities including but are not limited to database design, data integration, query optimization and scripting. *Provide rotational on-call support; occasional scheduled nights and emergency outages. *Work effectively in a multi-team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

*Bachelor's degree is required in Computer Science or related major. *Minimum 5-7 years of IT experience is required, with at least six months of current experience related to the duties listed above. *Experience in both Oracle and SQL a plus. *Experience working in an Oil & Gas setting is highly desirable. *Excellent interpersonal and written & verbal communication skills illustrated through work experience.
