We are looking for a Data Architect that will help us discover information hidden in vast amounts of data, help us make smarter decisions and deliver better  products & services. The Data Architect will be hands-on (does development) and responsible for formulating and executing on well-defined data & analytics roadmap and architecture within Enterprise Architecture organization. Your primary focus will be to define data strategy, roadmap, along with architecting and standing up Big Data environments. Accountable for providing technical leadership and architectural input/guidance for data and analytics initiatives, the right candidate will be an experienced data architect with in-depth understanding and hands-on knowledge of foundational data architectures such as data warehouses,  databases, visualization tools, ETL's , data model design, master data governance as well as Big Data platforms and related frameworks. 


1. Design and build relational and NOSQL data models for operational and analytics applications including data ingestion, staging, data quality monitoring,  cleansing, processing and analysis.

2. Work closely with business/deployment teams to understand requirements, prepare detailed architecture design specification documentation for Data & Analytics  projects

3. Define architectural patterns, maintain and enforce standards and usage guidelines for effective and efficient delivery of enterprise BI and analytics, including data ingestion, data integration, data virtualization, operational reporting, dashboarding, and business analytics across the spectrum of descriptive to prescriptive

4. Manages a documented, mutually understood current-state of the assigned area’s business, application and infrastructure architecture and develops a transition plan to target-state architecture(s). 

5. Define/maintain blueprints for data management systems to integrate, centralize, protect and maintain the data sources.

6. Develop enterprise architecture standards and facilitate the adherence and governance of related project activity through controls in PMO, Project/Solution Development Lifecycle, Change Management, and Procurement processes.

7. Architect and build solutions in cloud deployments of big data platforms. Gather data from various source systems/databases. Build ETL scripts/routines to acquire and prepare data for analysis . Cleanse, blend, transform, enrich and prepare data ahead of analysis and/or data-mining phase.

8. Deploy large distributed Big Data Applications (e.g., Customer segmentation) and real time analytics and ingestion platforms

9. Develop and evangelize data architecture principles, policies and standards to ensure consistency in the metadata categories within the data models

10. Drive innovations by developing rapid proofs-of-concepts and prototypes to help illustrate approaches to data/analytics problems. Perform hands on coding and develop/implement design patterns and other best practices

11. Lead software & platform evaluations including capabilities assessment, formal scoring models, and delivery of executive presentations supporting a final directional recommendations

 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with minimum 8 years of experience in data architecture, logical and physical relational database modeling, master data management, operational database management, data warehousing, and enterprise data governance

* 3+ years hands on architectural experience in design and deployment of big data solutions with at least one end-to-end implementation (data model design, data ingestion, cleansing, distributed data processing) using big data frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, Storm, HBase, HDFS, Pig, Hive, Scala, Kafka, PyScripts etc.

* Solid understanding of ETL architectures, data integration technologies, data cleansing routines utilizing data quality functions involving profiling, standardization, transformation, rationalization, linking and matching

* Experience with design & architecture of Master Data Governance solutions 

* Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as AWS Redshift, RDS, HBase, Cassandra, DynamoDB and/or Mongo DB

* Deep understanding of cloud computing infrastructure, platforms and an open-source cluster computing frameworks & Apache Spark

* Hands-on experience on at least one scripting and programming languages (e.g. Java, Scala, Linux, SQL, Python, Pig)

* Be versed in Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and/or Microsoft Azure cloud solutions and architecture
