JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: DC Planner\/Scheduler REPORTS TO: VP of Operations LOCATION: Olive Branch and Memphis NUMBER OF OPENINGS: 3 JOB SUMMARY: The DC Planner\/Scheduler is responsible for preparing daily, weekly, and\/or monthly work schedules for up to 600 part-time associates across the Williams-Sonoma Supply Chain Distribution Centers in Olive Branch, MS and Memphis, TN. This position will develop, analyze, and optimize a master schedule to establish the most efficient schedules in support of business needs. The DC Planner\/Scheduler creates flexible schedules to support the workflow for each department and operation according to productivity forecasts. They will confer with Operation Leaders to discuss challenges that may delay optimum workflow involving the part-time core group and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. The timely communication of schedules to the core group of part-time associates is essential. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Develop flexible part-time schedules and updates to ensure that part-time associates are scheduled in sufficient numbers to meet the demands of our customers * Collaborate with Distribution Leaders, Operation Managers and HR to ensure sufficient data exist for accurate and timely communication for all distribution center part-time associates across multiple locations * Utilize appropriate reporting tools (Reddworks, Labor Management, Kronos, etc.) to identify effective schedules * Develop and maintain reports for KPI's along with other performance indicators to ensure optimal productivity * Support operations management teams during peak periods and vacation\/sick coverage to ensure that all departments are staffed according to plan * Provide daily communication to distribution center management on labor and\/or forklift equipment needs based on staffing, volume, workload, and time * Communicate schedules to part-time associates via email, mobile, intranet, internet, etc. and posts in designated areas * Process associate requests for shift changes * Identify, resolve, and forecast problems and potential solutions to ensure proper staffing levels * Work with associates to ensure they are matched to the correct position and shift * Analyze multiple scheduling needs and help determine the most effective staffing model to communicate * Local travel may be necessary between Memphis and Olive Branch * Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * One to three years of planning, scheduling, or analytical experience --preferably in warehouse operations, hospitality, or call center staffing * Associate Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired * Advanced computer skills; proficiency in Excel strongly preferred * Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Must be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-priority team environment * Ability to multitask to assist in a variety of tasks * Bi-lingual in English and Spanish PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience IND-MS Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
