Job Responsibilities:

Handles in-bound sales and customer support calls.

Processes and expedites all customer orders. In addition to processing, via computer, customer requests.

Interacts and assists VWR Customers and Sales Reps with order placement and expediting customer requests.

Recommends alternative products and handles pricing issues.

Researches and resolves customer problems; responds to customer inquiries about pricing, order status, changes, or cancellations.

Expedites back orders and handles returns and special requests.

Processes and releases RGA’s.

Processes SAP orders and EDI orders re-entry.

Provides Certificate of Analysis and Certificates of Compliance as per customer request.

Prepares quotations for customers and Sales Representatives.

Contacts suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems. Prepares, maintains, and reviews purchasing files, reports and price lists.

Tracks the status of requisitions and orders, including rentals and standing orders.

Calculates costs of orders, and charges or forwards invoices to appropriate accounts.

Confers with customers by telephone or in person in order to provide information about products and services, to take orders or cancel accounts, or to obtain details of complaints.

Keeps records of customer and supplier interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.

Resolves customers' service or billing complaints by performing activities such as providing POD’s, verifying invoices, exchanging merchandise, refunding money, and adjusting bills.

Contacts customers in order to respond to inquiries or to notify them of status of an order, claim investigation results and any planned adjustments.

Refers unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation.

Experience & Skills:

Capacity to coordinate and handle multiples calls, process orders, calculate prices and verify merchandise. High sense of logic and mathematical knowledge. Ability to read and interpret catalogs and pricing lists.

Fax, computers, calculator.

It is required that the person loaded weights up to 15 pounds.

Must maintain good relations and communication with clients, suppliers and administrative personnel.

Fully bilingual

Excellent communication and telephone skills

Team player and ability to work independently.

Customer focused.

Organization and time management skills. Practices attentive and active listening.

Able to maintain composure and positive attitude during difficult times.

Ability to be flexible with your schedule as needed.


High school diploma required; Associate degree in Business Administration or Science preferred

One or more years of experience in Customer Service / Inside Sales environment. Prefer experience in a Call Center or job where calls are not scripted meaning each call may be different from the last.

Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
