Purpose of this position and responsibilities:

• Manage the Automotive Interiors product cost model.

o Receive existing cost model from current owners.

o Extend cost model format to fully link with capacity plan

o Create process

o to manage and control the assumptions for process and cost that drive the cost model.

o Support cost related questions associated with budget, new products, capacity expansions, process improvements, changes in demand, source changes between locations, etc.

o Track cost inquiries in an orderly way, ensuring changes to the model are understood.

• Support new product inquiries with cost analysis.

o Work with new products team (product engineering, quality, PLM, and sales) to identify when new product inquiries are outside manufacturing capability.

o Coordinate engineering and manufacturing teams to evaluate & deliver technical responses.

o Develop cost models for these cases to support pricing.

• Support 5-year strategic planning process

o Maintain long-term cost model and associated capacity model.

o Perform scenario analysis to assess various projects and their impact on long-term financials.

o Participate in strategy sessions as a cost subject matter expert, representing manufacturing and delivering cost insight to other functional groups.

• Track division-level manufacturing metrics with guidance of Division Manufacturing Manager.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment

• Experience with problem solving processes and tools, especially Lean and DMAIC.

Job Requirements:

Experiences/Education: Required:

• Bachelor of Science (Engineering or Technical), or 4-year degree in Business, Economics, or Supply Chain related topics.

• 3 years industry experience in manufacturing organization (direct or support)

• Demonstrated history of quantitative analysis in manufacturing environment.


• >3 years of experience in Corning, ideally glass manufacturing.

• Experience with cost and/or capacity modeling.

• B.S. or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, and ability to create and run product flow simulation models.

• Experience with Corning glass manufacturing processes.

• Experience with Corning tools, such as Performance Excellence to solve problems and integrate with other problem solvers.
