Job Summary/Purpose

The CSR Specialist is responsible for assisting with the coordination of volunteer activities and initiatives in support of the department of Corporate Social Responsibility’s overall efforts to strengthen the communities where Entergy employees live and work, as well as to build relationships with key stakeholders, increase the company’s visibility as a good corporate citizen, and maximize the volunteer resources of our most valuable assets, our employees.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsible for writing and creating employee news articles, email communication, posters/fliers, etc. to drive employee participation in volunteer programs and initiatives.

Provides support to facilitate group volunteer activities.

Provides general support for System-wide volunteer programs and activities.

Responsible for updating and maintaining Community Connectors portal and CSR SharePoint site

Provides tech support for Community Connector portal users.

Responsible for posting updates about volunteer activities to Power to Care Facebook page

Assists with posting of Op Co and Site group volunteer opportunities.

Serves as a resource person for Op Co and Site Volunteer Councils.

Assists with processing check requests for Community Connectors grants and Heart and Health grants.

 

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Degree in communications/journalism a plus

 

Minimum experience required of the position

3+ years of relevant experience

Experience in corporate community involvement, volunteerism, or nonprofits.

Experience and writing and designing communication materials for internal and external audiences including news articles, newsletters, posters, flyers, social media campaigns, etc.  

Must submit work samples for review prior to interview.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Experience with Web development and/or graphic design preferred

Experience with SharePoint preferred

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
