The Corporate Quality Engineer is responsible for overseeing and providing leadership in statistical methods and continuous improvement for Quality, R&D, Operations and Farms in conjunction with plant Continuous Improvement teams. This person will collaborate with cross-functional teams of process owners to manage change and ensure consistent product performance that meet quality objectives. This position will report into our Senior Manager, Quality Systems Development and will partner with the plant quality teams as well as operations management for the execution of this role.


Oversee and provide leadership in statistical methods and continuous improvement for Quality, R&D, Operations and Farms in conjunction with plant Continuous Improvement teams.

Use statistical methods to solve specific problems in many areas, such as food safety, quality, R&D, plant operations, farm operations, safety, customer concerns.

Analyze production and process capabilities, applying continuous improvement principles and techniques to food safety and quality functions.

Evaluate the statistical methods and procedures used in the manufacturing environment data collection system in order to ensure validity, efficiency and accuracy.

Analyze and interpret statistical data in order to identify differences in relationships among sources of information.

Conduct classroom training for employees, at all levels in the organization, around topics including statistical methods, SPC, sampling and continuous improvement.

Supervise and provide instructions for employees collecting, tabulating and interpreting data.

Collaborate with cross functional teams of process owners to manage change and ensure consistent product performance that meets quality objectives.

Apply sampling techniques or recommend sampling plans to determine the processes to be studied are valid.

Design projects that apply valid scientific techniques and utilize information obtained from historical data in order to ensure efficient and accurate analysis.

Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques and analytical methods.

Evaluate sources of information in order to determine any limitations around reliability or usability.

Identify relationships and trends in data, as well as, factors which could affect the results.

Plan data collection methods for projects and determine the types and sizes of sample groups to be used.

Process large amounts of data for statistical modeling and graphic analysis.

Report results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts and tables.

Develop and understand the MFI processes to which statistical methods are to be applied in order to determine whether methods and results are appropriate.

Prepare data for processing by organizing information, checking for any inaccuracies, and adjusting and weighting the raw data.

Work with customer service department in regards to statistical methodology to support complaint investigations.


Bachelor’s degree in Statistics or related field and a minimum of 5 years experience using statistical and continuous improvement tools. Experience in a food manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of Statistics and Statistical Process Control.

Ability to apply statistical theory and methods to collect, organize and summarize data to provide usable information.

Strong continuous improvement knowledge.

Experience in CAPA and RCA.

Able to work flexible hours (nights and weekends) as required.

Willing to travel 50% of the time.


Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification is desired.

Excellent computer skills in Office, SharePoint, SAP, InfinityQS, Minitab.

Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Ability to lead and be a contributing member of cross functional teams

Kaizen and 5S implementation experience is desired.
