Job Summary:

Cudd Energy Services (CES), a division of RPC Inc. (NYSE: RES), is an experienced Oil & Gas service company with a reputation for safe, professional, and reliable performance. CES delivers superior performance combined with the latest technologies for a wide range of completion, production, and workover services in onshore and offshore environments.

The Corporate Project Engineer position is the primary role in the advancement of CES equipment. This is a technical support and project management position located in corporate office in The Woodlands, TX. In this position the individual analyzes customer requirements to develop solutions related to capital equipment and other special projects. Furthermore, the individual continuously pursues improvements to standard equipment by integrating new technology and developing new solutions through. This position directly interfaces with senior management and various resources as part of job function. This position may consist of 25% travel to domestic and international field sites.

Job Description:

Responsible for the design of capital equipment used in oil & gas well services (e.g. stimulation, coiled tubing, snubbing, nitrogen etc.).

In general, defines the project scope, develops equipment specifications, conducts/reviews engineering design, establishes the project budget and timeline, directs resources of project implementation, and works closely with operations during commissioning and start-up.

Manages vendors to ensure capital equipment is manufactured in accordance with specifications and commissions the equipment to ensure requirements are met

Performs feasibility studies to identifying areas within the operations function where equipment safety, quality, delivery, and cost may be improved.

Performs research and development to come up with cost effective solutions.

Performs preliminary design as necessary to support projects

Manage all documentation related capital equipment

Applies principles of mechanics (static and dynamic), hydraulics, pneumatics, and materials.

Performs complex calculations to determine performance analysis, stress analysis, tolerances, etc.

Pursues the continuous improvement of capital equipment that is safe and cost effective

Serves as primary technical resource for all assigned projects

Perform other tasks as assigned

Travels as needed to support all assigned projects


Bachelor of Science degree in the following majors will only be considered: Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering

3-5 years of experience in equipment design related to the Oil & Gas industry

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office™ Suite, SolidWorks™ and SolidWorks Simulation™ software.

Knowledge of oil field equipment related to remedial workover

Knowledge in mechanical design and structural analysis

Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems

Strong project management skills

Exceptional technical writing and interpersonal skills

Self-disciplined and ability multitask

Exceptional ability to learn new skills
