Summary Statement

Report to the Director and primarily supports key projects and programs initiated by the lines of business and as determined by the Director. 

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of the overall vision, strategy and objectives of a dynamic corporate archive program. 

• Create strategies to leverage awareness of JPMorgan Chase’s rich heritage, its brand and leadership by participating in projects that relate to the design and development of a new headquarters building in New York. 

• Provide value-added reference and research services and deliverables to employees in all geographic regions, across all functions and business units.

• Oversee in the implementation and coordination of the newly established International Documentation Strategy. By collaborating with senior executives across our Lines of Business, we will work with contacts in the regions to identify, review and transfer records that represent key events and decisions which should be incorporated into the permanent collection and centralized in New York.  Our focus will primarily be Europe and Pan Asia to identify records.

• Manage the review and disposition of permanent business, legal and historical records from all units of the business to ensure complete documentation of the history of the company and its business units. 

• The First National Bank of Chicago --  boxes

• The papers of Harry Lamont, Senior Partner at JPMorgan & Co.

• Washington Mutual  -- 200 boxes in Seattle

• Assist with research, design and installation of exhibits that highlight Archives collections and contribute to employee education, company goals and program outreach.

• Establish and nurture collaborative internal partnerships.

 Previous managerial experience within a large global corporate or institutional

      environment.

 Knowledge of archival technical skills, including records surveys and transfers, preservation methodology, appraisal, arrangement and description.

 Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 Attention to detail

 Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

 Excellent historical research skills.

 Ability to work with minimum supervision.

 Computer competency with Microsoft Word package including, Excel and PowerPoint.

Education Level

Master’s Degree in History or Library Science with 8-10 years of experience.

Physical Requirements

Applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of this position - including handling boxes of records weighing up to 40 pounds.
