We are currently seeking a Cooking Channel PR Intern to be located in our NY- Chelsea office.

Job Description:

This spring internship will begin on or after January 22, 2018 and end on or before April 20, 2018.

Internship Qualifications

Intern must be a rising or current junior, rising or current senior, graduate student, or recent graduate (within 6 months of graduation date) at an accredited college/university.

Applicants must have completed their sophomore year prior to the start of the internship.

Must have previous internship experience and/or participated in college clubs/organizations, and/or in-depth coursework in a related field

Legally eligible to work in the United States. Scripps Networks is unable to sponsor visas for interns. If you are an international student not already studying in the U.S. on an F-1 or J-1 visa, then you have to go through a university or an outside organization (internship placement agency) that will sponsor your visa.

Must have strong oral and written communications skills, as well as exceptional organization and planning skills

You must include your anticipated graduation

Must have an interest in the media and television industries

Duties and Responsibilities

Update, track and research contacts for press lists including print, radio, TV, online and blogs and develop new press lists (local, niche, etc.) based on network needs for new shows, talent, special projects.

Assist during network events, PR photo and video shoots, media appearances, tours, and talent meetings where applicable.

Aid in the production and distribution of materials for mailings (press kits, tape dubbing, artwork production, mailing distribution).

Organize new photography and assist with keeping database of existing photography uploaded and filed

Draft, edit, and update press materials including: talent bios, one-sheets, episode descriptions, and media alerts.
