Job Summary

Our New York City Sales Office is seeking a Controls Specification Sales Manager to:

esponsible for developing relationships with consulting engineers and other members of the NYC specification community through product demonstrations, installations/implementations, and sharing vision for future of lighting solutions. Provides specification assistance and supports other agency sales personnel with training and technical knowledge. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 3 to 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the lighting and controls field. Must have the ability to articulate high level strategy to internal teams and external customers including lighting specifiers, engineers, contractors and large early-adopter end users. Gathers client feedback and suggests new products/services or makes recommendations for improvements to existing products/services. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a Director or Vice President level in the company.

Strategy

Support existing specifier relationships and develop strategy for increased market penetration. Develop and execute sales plan to provide multi-layered coverage to specifiers, in tandem with lighting-focused agency specification team.

Identify and lead Acuity Total Solution sales for selected opportunities.

Training

Provide Agency Sales Team new product training focused on T3/T4 solutions.

Industry

Represent New York Digital at various industry associations & functions (IES, DLF, LEDucation, etc.)

VOC / VOM (Matrix)

Provide VoC / VoM back to product groups for Total Solution drivers (compelling events) in order to help develop future products/solutions

Required Years of Experience

3 to 5 years

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

Experience Required

Results seeking, sales orientated and self motivated. Ability to ask for the order. Strong interpersonal and effective consultative selling skills required. Effective presentation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of light sources and optics, training in illumination, either through an accredited program in a university, through industry training from some of the major manufacturers or through the Illuminating Engineering Society courses.

Experience Preferred

Lighting Certification

Physical Requirements

Medium work -- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 20 pounds of forces frequently, and /or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Other

Overnight travel required. Percentage of travel based upon geographic needs.
