The Controller is responsible for directing the business unit's accounting functions and establishing and maintaining the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the activities of the Accounting Department for accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, and annual audits and budgets
Prepare monthly financial statements on a timely basis, including reviewing and comparing for accuracy
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and supporting schedules which accurately reflect the financial position of the business unit
Assist and prepare forecasts, budgets and other financial and operational reports as requested by management and corporate
Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses against the annual budget
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal reporting requirements
Create and maintain a system of internal controls over financial reporting including financial audits and recommendations for procedural improvements
Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closings including the maintenance of GL, A/R, A/P, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property and operating expenses, and insurance records
Report organization\u2019s finances to management and offers suggestions about resource utilization and underlying budget forecasts
Review financial statements with management personnel
Adhere to SESI Financial policies and procedures and work with SESI to resolve financial matters
Maintain fixed assets and inventory files
Perform credit checks on new customers
Maintain price books
Respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints
Develop cost savings measures
Write reports, business correspondence, and procedures and effectively present information and responses to groups of manager and customers

Minimum Requirements:

Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
Ability to analyze and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, government regulations and complex documents
Ability to present complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or Board of Directors
Knowledge of and ability to apply general to advanced mathematical concepts
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
Strong computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Strong knowledge of general business accounting practices


Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5-7 years\u2019 experience and/or training
Prior knowledge in the oilfield rental business and prior supervisory skills
