**Qualified candidates will be in the Northern Illinois (Chicago) area**
Negotiates, re-negotiates and executes competitive contracts with providers in accordance with company standards in order to maintain and enhance provider networks while meeting and exceeding accessibility, quality and financial goals and medical cost initiatives.
Negotiates competitive contracts with market based, individual or group/system providers in support of market or regional strategies.
Manages provider compensation and pricing development activities.
Responsible for understanding and managing medical cost issues. Initiates appropriate cost saving initiatives.
Experience in negotiating Medicare Advantage contracts.
Assists with the design, development, management, and or implementation of strategic network configurations.
May manage relationships, handle escalated service issues or support operational activities that may include, but are not limited to, database management, contract coordination or credentialing.
Responsible for managing provider demographic information activities, medical records retrieval, escalated claims issues, credentialing issues, delegation activities, directory auditing for CMS, etc.
Comprehensive level negotiating skills with successful track record negotiating contracts with large or complex provider systems or groups.
Bachelor's degree in a closely related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
5-7 years related experience.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
