AWS Educate is looking for a smart, innovative, driven, problem solving Content Editor with experience working across multiple instructional delivery modalities to create high quality, scalable learning experiences that supports our growing learning community. Launched in 2015, AWS Educate is focused on building bold initiatives to accelerate the integration and application of Cloud content and tools into classrooms around the globe. AWS Educate members include universities, community colleges, and high schools \u2013 and the educators and students from these institutions.The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for details and strong organizational skills, as this position plays a critical role in overseeing the content publication process. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a great sense of humor, love solving problems, and know how to build relationships. The candidate must also have a strong understanding of confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion. This role reports to the Content Lead, and the primary responsibilities are to ensure administrative excellence and efficiency in content publishing.The role requires an individual who can innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before. While the Content Editor may or may not be steeped in AWS and the Cloud, he/she should be technically strong and have significant experience with technical subject matter.Some of the key job functions:

Manage the content publishing process of instructional materials (tutorials, digital interactives, user guides, audio and video scripts, story boards, navigational text, tests, etc.)
Manage permissions and authorization of use for all AWS Educate content \u2013 text, multi-media, graphics, translations and other materials \u2013 to ensure all content approvals are in place for production and distribution;
Confirm and validate content for publishing by internal and/or external subject matter experts;
Oversee and track day-to-day content editorial workflows, ensuring processes are documented, efficient, streamlined, and that content is published to the highest standards.
Assess content for publication suitability, and liaising with contributors regarding publishing decisions.
Coordinate transmittal of materials to the product team and instructional design team as per scheduled deadlines.
Assist the Content Lead with the development of plans for new features, processes and programs, and implementing them.
Create partnerships with internal teams (especially our training team, service teams, marketing) to publish content and drive greater value for students and educators;
Manage content publishing deliverables within budgetary, resource and scheduling requirements against defined project milestones and deadlines; and
Be the voice of the customer, ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of our content efforts and help our team iterate and improve on our content offering.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Business Instructional Design or related field;
At least 3 years experience in copy editing or a directly related field;
At least 2 years of project management experience;
Power user of Excel, defined by advanced skills such as experience manipulating large sets of data, use of formulas, pivot tables etc.
Familiarity with digital content production processes, digital content and formats obtained through college courses or other exposure.
Quantifiable knowledge of and interest in cloud technology and technical subject matter.
Excellent writing and editing skills;
Demonstrated obsession regarding the customer experience; never settle for good enough, and continually inspire others to do better for the customer; and
Passion for education.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate degree in English or a related field;
Experience with LMS architecture and deployment within corporate learning environment with at least 1000 users;
Passion for digital content and a great appetite for reading technical content; and
A proven track record of setting and exceeding aggressive goals; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience, and judgment.
