This role supports the needs of the Elanco North America Affiliate, Elanco North America Logistics Operation (ENALO) including the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada with a focus on providing technical and managerial oversight over finished product moving from manufacturing sites to Elanco distribution centers onto first paying customers.

The Warehouse and Logistics Consultant manages the daily order fulfillment process for the North America Affiliate. The role works with Customer Service Representatives, Master Schedulers/Planners and Marketing associates in the North America Affiliate and Elanco External Manufacturing to maintain SAP purchase orders, SAP customer orders to ensure final product delivery to end customer.

Elanco Customer Service

Monitors SAP projected obsolescence and works with Customer Service to proactively move potential short dated product.

Works closely with Customer Service and Business Unit Marketing to prioritize inbound receipt of product into distribution centers.

Responsible for resolving escalated issues and providing direction as relates to special product disposition; product allocation scenarios; new product introductions, etc. Works in close partnership with the Distribution Quality Assurance to ensure compliance and resolve issues as needed.

Works closely with Truckload, Less Than Truckload, Freight Forwarders, UPS to identify least cost mode of transport of finished product to first paying customer

Manage and negotiate SAP Purchase orders with Elanco External Manufacturing planners and Elanco Manufacturing sites

Manage SAP APO demand adjustments for obsolescence

Monitor billed not booked report identifying reasons for SAP order kick outs

Distribution Warehouse Network

Owns relationship with Elanco Logistic Service Providers (warehouse, carriers, freight forwarder) including day to day oversight and improvement opportunities

Responsible for compliance with Distribution Quality Agreements, contracts, cost management, periodic audits and gap closure

Monitors and identifies any issues with outbound shipments to first paying customers

Support Procurement with negotiation of any new Logistic Service Providers impacting North America

Monitors performance of Logistic Service Providers and leads Quarterly Business Reviews assessing overall performance

Affiliate resource and liaison for regulatory, quality and manufacturing for any source, packaging or label changes

Responsible for coordinating SAP IIT (informal integration testing) and FIT (formal integration testing) with EDI Distribution Centers

Sales and Operations Planning

Responsible to ensure that the Elanco North America Affiliate maintains OSSCE (Operational Standards for Supply Chain Excellence) metrics and standards to a Class ‘A’ level

Responsible for running the S&OP process for the North America Affiliate, including all business units (Beef, Dairy, Swine, Poultry, and Companion Animal)

Responsible for pulling SAP metrics comparing to OSSCE requirements

Responsible for Forecast Coordination with the business units; working closely with marketing and finance, and updating the forecasts in SAP APO

Stays connected with new product plans and launch teams to ensure supply issues are planned for and addressed

Responsible for continuity of product supply, working closely with supplying sites (EEM, Speke, Clinton, Kansas City) and the Regional Supply Chain Leader

Responsible for inventory rotation and management to avoid potential expiry issues; product destruction and financial loss

Coordinates product backorder/allocation with Marketing, Customer Service, and to first paying customers

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

5 years of experience in Distribution/Operations, supply chain or Customer Service

Additional Skills/Preferences

Experience working in an environment governed by GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and other regulations such as Sarbanes Oxley

Power user with SAP/WM/O2C systems

Ten to fifteen years of SAP experience with inventory management, product flow, replenishment, forecasting/APO, purchase orders, stock transfer orders
