Responsibilities:

The Oncology Research group at Lilly Research Laboratories is looking for a talented biologist to join our team. As part of a multi-disciplinary and dynamic team of scientists, you will be responsible for assay development, target identification/validation and biomarker discovery to aide advancement of novel and early stage cancer therapeutics. Do you desire to not only work independently designing and executing high quality experiments, but also collaboratively in a flexible, cross-functional environment? Do you have strong analytical skills, with experience in accurate documentation, data analysis and presentation? If you have experience in drug discovery and cancer cell biology and a strong desire to do rewarding research that improves the lives of our patients we want you on our team.

Position

Responsibilities:

Design and execute molecular and cell biology experiments, troubleshoot and analyze complex data in support of drug discovery projects.

Design, validation and execution of cell-based assays including ELISA, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and high content analysis.

Basic molecular biology involving RNA, DNA and protein-based studies including but not limited to western blotting, taqman, gene expression studies etc.

Cell culture such as transient transfections, viral expression systems, stable cell line generation and use of co-culture cell systems.

Using RNAi reagents and/or CRISPR model development.

Experience with human and/or animal tissues for pharmacodynamic analysis.

Independent analysis, processing and reporting of raw data.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, and proficiency in standard Microsoft office suite programs.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

Experience with tissue culture techniques (e.g. growing cell lines, transfections, virus infection, generation of stable cell lines, etc).

Extensive cell biology and molecular biology skills such as nucleic acid (RNA, DNA) isolation, taqman, flow cytometry, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, ELISA-based assay development and familiarity with immunofluorescence microscopy.

Experience and willingness to work with radioisotopes, lentiviruses and animal or human tissues.

Ability to work productively and to foster strong working relationship with peers and management.
