Position Description:

Corporate Audit Services is the independent and objective audit and consulting function of Eli Lilly and Company. Its mission is to assist the Company in achieving its objectives by implementing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organization’s risk management, control and governance processes. Corporate Audit Services is focused on global coverage of multiple practice areas: financial controls, ethical conduct, privacy, information technology controls, information asset security, governance, and third parties. Additionally, Sarbanes- Oxley (Sox) audits are performed.

The Lead Auditor position is responsible for efficient and effective design and execution of audit engagements and projects. Position supervises cross-functional teams of up to eight persons on domestic and international audits to test compliance with good internal control practices and corporate policies and procedures. Responsibilities include assessing risks, setting scope, designing audit programs, coaching and developing teams, sharing key learning across the organization, and making process improvements. Additionally, the lead auditor will participate on process ownership teams within Corporate Audit Services designed to work closely with the business to identify emerging risks and monitor remediation plans. This position reports to a member of the Corporate Audit Services management team.

Job Responsibilities:

Design audits to identify control risks and lead their implementation in a high quality and efficient manner, consistent with Corporate Audit Services’ procedures and IIA standards

Plan, resource, and administers domestic and international audits

Supervises audit fieldwork and is a coach to team members

Responsible for communicating audit results and issuing the audit report

Maintains and develops skills related to current audit policies and practices

Shares standard methodologies and makes process improvements

Provides coaching and feedback to team throughout the audit process

Partners with the business via process ownership responsibilities

Previous public accounting, internal audit, or compliance experience

Working knowledge of SAP and Audit Control Language (ACL)

Working towards or have obtained a professional certification (CPA, CIA, CMA, CFE, CISA, CIPP) or other relevant certification

Additional Information:

Position is located at Lilly Corporate Center, Indianapolis

Domestic and international travel of 25 - 35% with international trips typically two weeks in duration (including weekend travel).

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.

5 years of Public Accounting experience
