Job Description
Compliance with the laws and regulations is a fundamental Cardinal Health operating principle and a key component to ensuring Cardinal Health’s goals of providing quality to patient care while reducing costs and enhancing efficiency.\r
The compliance department ensures that policies and procedures are maintained, reviewed, revised and updated to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct.\r
Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead the Regional Compliance Program and direct its activities in accordance with the Cardinal Health Compliance Program.In conjunction with Company counsel, periodically revise the Regional Compliance Program in light of changes in the laws, policies, procedures and local developments.Develop, coordinate, and deliver in ongoing compliance training programs that seek to ensure all appropriate management and personnel are knowledgeable of and comply with pertinent Company policies, national and local standards including but not limited to the FCPA, Mexico’s anti-bribery anti-corruption laws and the Brazil Clean Companies Act.Develop, draft, implement, update and maintain local compliance procedures.Develop metrics to evidence and ensure performance of compliance activities across the region.Ensure employees, independent contractors, vendors and others who provide services to Cardinal Health are aware of and operate according to standards outlined in the Compliance Program.Lead the review of third party sellers due diligence files. Review and report on due diligence outcomes and develop plans to remediate findings.Support platforms for third party tracking, agreement storage and monitoring.Implement and manage compliance certification programs for employees and third parties.Review marketing materials and programs for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Support development and maintenance of educational and sponsorship events including tracking them to ensure compliance with Company policies, industry codes, applicable laws and regulations.Provide day to day advice and communications on compliance topics, making management aware of the risks affecting the functions they oversee, and review the internal and external landscape for emerging risks.Prepare for internal audit including its testing and monitoring activitiesSupport the regional business by providing support to personnel so that they can raise questions and receive appropriate guidance concerning compliance. Responds to employee’s questions and concerns.Support the compliance hot-line to ensure confidential reporting of suspected wrongdoing without fear of retaliation.Determine, in conjunction with Cardinal Health counsel, whether to commence investigations in the region, and if so, develops appropriate responses in coordination with current policies and procedures.Develop and monitor implementation of corrective action plans designed to ensure compliance in such matters.Develop an annual budget for compliance activities (augmenting for specific project plans, as needed) and manage the compliance function in accordance with the allocated budget.Advise on privacy regulations in the region and monitor programs to ensure compliance.\r
Minimum requirementsBachelor degree2 years of demonstrated experience in Latin America corporate compliance.Ability to work with all levels of management and build relationships across the Company is critical.Working knowledge of Latin America national laws and regulations.Excellent written and oral communication skills is required.Fluency in English and Spanish.Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Must exhibit high levels of integrity, professionalism, trustworthiness, team orientation, self-motivation and energy.Travel 20%.\r
