The Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition, Inc. is a non-profit collaboration of fifteen counties in Northwest Georgia that works with local hospitals and cancer centers, community groups, educational institutions, faith-based organizations, and government agencies to bring high quality resources to Northwest Georgia to ensure the best cancer care for our citizens. Each year, the Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition funds a variety of programs and projects committed to improving the lives of cancer patients and promoting early detection of prevention for all.

The Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition is looking for a COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR (FULL-TIME).

Position Summary:

The Communication Coordinator will work closely with the Director, Vice President and the NWGRCC staff to create, implement, and coordinate internal and external communications efforts of the Coalition. The position will report directly to the Director but will work collaboratively with all staff members to ensure accuracy and understanding of programs and event details.


* Consults with management and staff to update and maintain the NWGRCC website.

* Develops, writes, and edits various communications materials including press releases, articles, and newsletters.

* Designs and coordinates creation of event and program promotional materials.

* Develops and maintains effective methods for distributing PR/communication materials and information.

* Utilize and maintain various aspects of social media to promote coalition activities.

* Identify new and engaging methods for communicating with our external audiences.

* Maintains promotional materials availability; graphics coordination, stock/inventory, placing orders.

* Assist in event planning and implementation as needed.

* Bachelor's degree in related field

* Must have a good understanding of PR and marketing concepts and practices

* Basic knowledge of video production and editing preferred

* Must have working knowledge of Microsoft office and design software

* Have excellent communication and writing skills

* Must be well-organized, able to work with deadlines
