[RESPONSIBLITIES] What a Commercial Marketing Manager does at EA:

Owns the responsibility to deliver financial results for key game franchise(s) in North America. They are the business leader that the entire organization focuses on to be the champion for the franchise.


Influence brand marketing and product development teams to ensure product offer is maximized for commercial success based on historical data, market trends and analysis.

Collaborate with internal campaign management and marketing communications teams to deliver campaign strategies that integrate the campaign initiatives into commercial activation and post-launch live services plans.

Collaborate with cross functional partners to deliver strategic and tactical pre and post launch optimization planning.

Partner with demand planning team to inform and influence pre order and sales forecasts based on commercial strategies.

Partner with retail and digital account teams to ensure all channels have necessary content to drive Sell In, Sell through and maximize channel-specific activations that align with brand campaign.

Identify and champion opportunities to impact sales trends for [FRANCHISE] titles to meet sales objectives.


Partner with Account Managers and Customer Marketing Managers to develop and execute programs for their franchise’s titles across all channels and to deliver customer specific promotion activity with a focus on pre-sell and in-store sell through on a 52 week cycle.

Project management responsibilities include: building out go to market plans for their franchise’s titles, maintaining and building upon close relationships with all internal partners in both the Global Marketing Organization and the Global Publishing Organization, executing the go to market plan in North America, securing of necessary legal & financial approvals, tracking and reconciliation of budgets.

Coordinate directly with Project Manager, Operations and Customer teams for all display, assets, and promotion needs.

Work closely with both EA, 1stParty and 3rdParty CGP partnership teams to leverage key marketing and licensing partners. Utilize these properties and their marketing dollars to benefit key EA properties sell-In and Sell-Through.

Communication – Must have great communication skills at all levels both internal (brand and campaign marketing teams, sales, operations, demand planning, management) and external (accounts, 1st Party, 3rd party partners)

Influencing - Demonstrated ability to influence and build consensus with cross functional partners and management. Uses data and builds business cases to gain cross functional alignment.

Strong initiative – Works independently; is naturally curious and willing to seek out answers, information, resources and develop partnerships to achieve goals.

Problem solving - Constantly looking for ways to execute better, improve process, or problem solve. Pro-actively identifies and anticipates issues, and proposes solutions in advance.

Commercial Acumen - Good understanding of the Business Objectives for the Business Unit. Drive projects in order to deliver on these goals.

[DESIRED EXPERIENCE] The next great EA Commercial Marketing Manager also needs:

+ 4 year degree or the equivalent

+ 5+ years marketing and/or sales experience with key retail accounts and/or entertainment content publishers

+ Retail experience, including digital commerce

+ A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in game industry, software development, entertainment, or other closely related industry

+ Passion for gaming
