This position description below is not exhaustive and may be modified with the Business and Team needs



Oklahoma Resource Basin (ORB) Commercial Group is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join the Team.  This position is a high impact position in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for providing financial and operations insight into ORB’s Outside Operated (OBO) activity, in addition to detailed analysis of Joint Interest Billings. Additional opportunities for participation in A&D activities may also be made available to the candidate. The successful candidate will also be a participant in financial and operations analysis, OBO process streamlining efforts, departmental projects as well as collaborating with internal functional organizations. The candidate must be able to work independently in a detail oriented environment and possess high organization & communication skills.



*Execute detailed evaluation, QA/QC and primary approval of all ORB Joint Interest Billings *Assist in development of a comprehensive view of OBO activity in ORB *Analyze information from multiple public sources (IHS, Drilling Info, IR presentations, etc.) to communicate a comprehensive view of an operator in ORB *Assemble actual/plan comparisons for OBO wells and mine operational/subsurface data to assist ORB’s understanding of the partner well results *Provide concise communication of partner-activity evaluation results to respective functional areas (such as D&C) on a timely basis  


*Working Knowledge of:

*Oil & Gas Accounting: SAP, Accounting and Financial transactions *Commercial Understanding: Basic oil and gas contract terms *Operations: Drilling, Completion and Production

*Business Analysis/Business Intelligence: Familiarity with various public data sources and ability to utilize multiple data sources to provide financial and operational analysis on a ORB peer company

*Data > Information > Insight > Foresight

*Flexibility and Desire to Learn:  Must exhibit flexibility in adapting to changing requirements and deadlines, enjoy learning about new aspects of the business, and be comfortable collaborating with individuals from various functions *Independent analytical capabilities with a strong commitment to results *Applicable Software: SAP, ARIES, Tibco Spotfire, IHS/DI, Access, Enersight, MATLAB and SQL


*Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Engineering required; MBA Preferred *3+ years’ of experience on the business/operating side of oil and gas required *In depth knowledge of SAP, ARIES, and Excel preferred
