Currently, we are seeking a talented Cloud Architect to join the Corporate Division in Newport Beach, CA. The Corporate Division supports the goals and initiatives of all other divisions throughout the company and its subsidiaries. These departments include: Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Corporate Development, Public Affairs, Safety & Security, Legal & Compliance.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Cloud Architect is a new role that will assist in leading a cultural change for cloud adoption. They will develop and coordinate cloud architecture, develop a cloud strategy and coordinate the adoption process. The person will serve as the subject matter expert for cloud transformation and should have a deep understanding of cloud architecture, adoption patterns, and cloud providers.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Be a trusted advisor by demonstrating thought leadership in cloud technologies across multiple disciplines (application architecture, infrastructure and operations, security, governance, automation, integration architecture)

• Develop a deep understanding of the business domain and enterprise technology environment to craft a cloud strategy, architecture, and multi-year roadmap that achieves business objectives and maximizes efficiencies

• Lead, collaborate, and communicate architectural vision and governance models

• Lead and take part in cloud readiness assessments, workshops, roadmap, cost benefit analysis, and application modernization discussions

• Assess business viability of new cloud adoption requirements

• Work with cross-functional IT teams and business stakeholders to identify strategic cloud adoption requirements and produce or contribute to cloud consumption, strategy, roadmap, and architecture artifacts.

FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:

• 7 years of experience in creating and managing enterprise architectures and solutions across multiple disciplines (application architecture, infrastructure and operations, security, governance, automation, integration architecture)

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of current Cloud Computing technologies, strategies, solutions, assessment methodologies, planning techniques, technologies, and methods

• Experience in creating cloud architecture and roadmaps for both hybrid and non-hybrid cloud solutions as part of larger cloud transformation initiatives

• Understanding and experience with cloud automation technologies

• Developed experience in delivering and managing cloud programs

• 5 years of experience in any one of cloud provider AWS, Azure, Google, IBM Softlayer

• Familiarity with Docker containers and server less architectures

• Strong understanding and experience in non-technical aspects of cloud transformation (finance, legal, procurement, vendor management, program leadership, and change management)

• Effective relationship building and leadership skills across divisional and departmental organizational structures to accomplish enterprise wide goals

• Ability to address issues/opportunities from a business perspective and IT best practices point-of-view.
