Provide technical,

educational and sales support to assist the district in meeting assigned CVG

sales and customer service objectives. CVG seeks candidates who will meet our

customer expectations by striving without reserve for the greatest possible

reliability and quality in our products, processes and systems by being

accountable, having a voice, and taking action.

This position will be

the customer’s first-line contact for the CVG daily operations at assigned



Sales Support for two or more CVGbusiness units (assigned below) and will assist with the implementation of thesales strategy of the remaining CVG business units. The CVG business unitsinclude CRDM, Endo-Peripheral, Coronary and Structural Heart Perfusion.

Support the regional CVG salesstrategy as set forth by the RVP; working with sales representatives andmanagers of all business units to achieve business plans.

The DM and RVP may include primaryresponsibility for sales if no other sales representative is assigned to thebusiness unit.

Technical Support:

Represents Medtronicduring surgeries and implants of products to provide troubleshooting and othertechnical assistance.

Provides technicalsupport with reprogrammings and follow-ups in hospitals and clinics.

Provides support withfield clinical investigations in assigned institutions. Ensures completion ofnecessary documentation.

Receives technicalinquiries by telephone. Researches solutions to questions or problems (e.g.,pacing system malfunctions, product selection issues, when appropriate, etc.)

Provides on call supportas needed for surgeries, reprogrammings, troubleshooting, follow-upenrollments, etc. on evenings and weekends

Educational Support

Educates and trainsphysicians, hospital personnel and office staff on technical matters relatingto our products and pacing through conducting and/or coordinating:


One-on-one training sessions


In-service education programs

3. Seminars

and/or outside symposiums

Assists DM and in-housetraining department in educating/training new Clinical Specialists and salesrepresentatives.

Provides training andresources for hospital staff to enable them to conduct training for theirpersonnel (train the trainer).

Sales Support:

During/following cases:

1. Completes necessarydocumentation (e.g., implant registration) and phone calls (customer service).

2. Updates salesrepresentatives concerning cases. Immediately notifies representativesregarding issues or problems requiring follow-up.

3. Serves as effectiveMedtronic representative to physicians and support staff regarding Medtronicproducts, service and support.

Manages inventories(consignment, trunk and district office, loaner products) and provides supportwith rotation and delivery to optimize customer service and efficiency.

Promotes CardioCareenrollments at time of implants.

Advises physiciansinvolved in setting up or evaluating pacing operations in their hospitals orclinics.Following district guidelines, requests and obtains purchase orders afterimplants.

Conducts regularunsolicited calls to hospitals or clinics.

Maintains currentknowledge regarding pacing, Medtronic programs, products and services andcompetitive products.

Maintains open,effective communication with all district personnel, customers and otherMedtronic employees

An Associate’s Degree inengineering, nursing, biology, chemistry or exercise physiology filed PLUS aminimum three years of work experience in the healthcare or engineering field **OR**

A Bachelor’s Degree PLUSa minimum of two years of work experience in the healthcare or engineeringfield **OR**

A Bachelor’s Degree inbiomedical, electrical or mechanical engineering PLUS a minimum of one year ofwork experience in the healthcare or engineering field **OR**

A Bachelor's Degree and currentlyenrolled in a certificate program from a pacing school like ATI or PrepMD


B.A./B.S. Degree innursing, cardiovascular, life sciences, engineering or technical disciplinewith minimum of three years work experience in technical field, engineering,hospital/clinic or sales

Proven track record withtechnical training assignments

Experience in a cathlab, in biomedical engineering, in a hospital/clinic or medical sales

Ability to work withmany different customers from varying backgrounds

Bachelor’s Degree innursing, life sciences, cardiovascular, engineering or technical discipline.(change)


Continuousverbal and written communication.

Frequent2-handed lifting of up to 40 lbs. from floor to chair/table and from one toanother surface at approximately the same level

Sitting,standing and/or walking for up to eight plus hours per day

Environmentalexposures include eye protection, infectious disease and radiation

Abilityto wear 7-9 lbs of lead for extended periods of time while in the O.R.

Frequentlyrequired to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls

Abilityto effectively use a mobile phone, PC, keyboard and mouse

Frequentbending/stooping, squatting and balance

Specificvision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in relation to travel andoperating a personal computer

Abilityto travel extensively with ease (approx. 10% of time)

Mustbe able to drive approximately 80% of the time within assigned territory

Environmental exposure to infectious disease and radiation

Clinical Specialists are required to be within their assignedterritory each day to be available as unscheduled needs arise. ClinicalSpecialists are periodically required to work weekends, evenings and nights.Clinical Specialists serve as a primary resource for scheduled and on-callassignments and as a back up to sales representatives during unassignedweekends, evenings and nights

Musthave a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy. Inaddition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as partof your application.
