Clinical Evidence Associate

The Clinical Evidence Associate under the direction of the Biostatistics Manager, is responsible for fulfilling clinical evidence requests for Spine, as assigned, by evaluating and investigating available evidence and providing reports to business colleagues.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Conducts literature searches on Zimmer Biomet Spine products, specific surgical indications, outcomes, or other areas related to spine surgery upon request

Prepares clinical summaries on Zimmer Biomet Spine products to support marketing, regulatory affairs, design review, post-market surveillance, and reimbursement.

Summarizes clinical data and prepares reports, figures, and scientific meeting presentations

Develop Clinical Proofs to support business as assigned (White papers, clinical marketing pieces, and reimbursement and evidence dossiers)

Assists with clinical study analyses under the direction of Biostatistics Manager

Supports preparation and submission of scientific journal articles

Oversees Clinical Library, to ensure evidence is maintained and stored to support business needs.

Communicates with other groups within the company about key articles and findings in literature and clinical data as assigned

Assists with other medical writing projects as assigned

Expected Areas of Competence

Strong writing skills including medical writing.

Ability to analyze clinical research data.

Strong communication skills; ability to communicate to medical device/pharmaceutical industry professionals and customers.

Ability to apply statistical knowledge and distinguish what pertinent Clinical data can be utilized in support of business initiatives.

Demonstrated knowledge / experience with scientific methods and clinical research processes, customer strategies, promotional guidelines, regulations, and ethical guidelines preferred.

Can work independently, set the right priorities and is a self-starter.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business partners on all levels.

This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, but happy to work as part of an extended team.

Professionalism and diplomacy in dealing with Health Care Professionals and Regulatory Agencies.

Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree is required.

Degree in Science and/or Engineering with statistical knowledge is preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of research experience and data compilation is required, although a combination of education and experience may be considered

Medical writing experience preferred

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education or experience with Biostatistics is preferred

Experience with SAS statistical software a plus

Experience with Medical Device or Pharma Regulations relative to Clinical Research is preferred

Travel Requirements

Up to 10%
